Position Overview

As a Content Creation Coordinator, you will play a vital role in our mission by producing engaging content for our publications and online platforms. You'll focus on our flagship magazine, digital newsletter, and online news, ensuring that our members stay informed and engaged. This position offers the flexibility of remote work or a hybrid arrangement.

Key Responsibilities

Serve as our in-house copywriter for both print and online publications.

Create various content types, including news briefs, news analysis articles, profiles, case studies, and photo essays.

Collaborate closely with publication editors to refine the angle and scope of assignments.

Conduct thorough research through press releases, background research, and interviews.

Stay proactive in tracking industry trends and developments of interest to water professionals.

Provide real-time reporting for our events.

Substantively edit articles, adhering to our in-house style rules.

Work with external authors (subject matter experts) to ensure the quality of edited drafts.

Identify and pitch potential article topics and noteworthy developments in the water sector.

Assist in the review of page proofs.

Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism, or a related field, with a preference for an educational background in science or engineering concepts.

1 to 4 years of experience in newspaper, magazine, or trade journal publishing.

Strong writing skills, with the ability to create engaging content.

Proficiency in research and interviewing.

Familiarity with print and digital publishing.

Knowledge of AP Stylebook and grammar rules.

Comfortable using Microsoft Office programs.

Excellent attention to detail and the ability to meet deadlines.

Strong problem-solving, listening, and communication skills.

Willingness to travel to WEF events up to 3 times a year.

Able to work in a standard office environment.
