Mystic Learning Center, Inc. Community Resource Specialist Job duties: ? Assist with administration and supervision of the MLC program ? Help to create an atmosphere that promotes positive teamwork and staff/youth interaction ? Work as a mentor and role model to staff, children, and families ? Assist with youth engagement and family involvement by supporting to plan contracted events with the Somerville Housing Authority ? Work to strengthen academic and non-academic offerings by incorporating new curriculums for the after-school and summer programs and aid in fundraising efforts ? Assist with development of programs to meet the academic needs and socioemotional needs of the children by incorporating Social Emotional Learning (SEL) activities into programming ? Attend relevant meetings with youth serving agencies and the Mystic community to expand and build on community partnerships ? Work within the program and community to initiate Service Learning (SL) and Project Based Learning (PBL) activities into programming ? Manage distribution of community resources to families ? Assist with implementation of evaluation tools and data analysis of outcomes to improve our programming including SAYO-S, SAYO-Y, SAYO-T, APT-O and all other tools as determined by the Executive Director ? Observe and support the culture of the program ? Assist with behavioral management when needed ? Meet with students and parents individually when needed ? Assist with parent communication on Talking Points, Sandbox, MLC website and social media, newsletter, and emails/phone calls ? Assist in supervision of Senior staff, Junior staff and Tufts TASTE students ? Provide support to staff around professional development and the PQ Registry ? Complete a minimum 20 hours of training per year ? Attend a minimum of 75% of the MLC family events ? Attend a minimum of 75% of the MLC parent meetings ? Attend weekly staff meetings, 4 professional development trainings per year ? Perform all other duties assigned by the Executive Director and Assistant Director Qualifications: ? Post-secondary education in related field or education as required by Department of Early Education and Care (DEEC) preferred ? Previous experience working in direct care at an educational children's program as required by DEEC ? Staff file must be completed within 30 days of hire ? Completion of a Child Growth and Development course as required by DEEC ? Comply with trainings and orientations as required by DEEC ? Comply with Background Record Check (BRC) as required by DEEC ?
