With the Director of Marketing and Admissions’ oversight, the Marketing Communications Manager is responsible for implementing the school’s strategic marketing plan to promote Merchant Taylors’ School and producing communications to engage with target audiences.Main duties and responsibilities:Marketing Strategy and Planning:Work with the Director of Marketing and Admissions (DMA) to develop marketing communications campaigns aligned with the school’s strategic goals.Assist the DMA to conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, target audiences and positioning opportunities.B rand ManagementPromote brand guardianship to ensure that all communication materials, both internal and external, consistently reflect the school's visual identity, values and tone of voice.Build strong cross-organisational relationships to facilitate brand guardianship with - for example - Friends’ Groups, Development Office, OMT Society etc.Create and update marketing collateral, including brochures, advertising materials and branded merchandise.Manage third-party agencies (design, website, video production etc) on a day-to-day basis.Create and maintain a brand asset library.Content DevelopmentPlan and create compelling content to drive engagement at all touchpoints of the customer journey including the School’s website, social media (Facebook, Instagram, Linked-In and Twitter), digital and print materials.Manage social media accounts, schedule content and monitor social media platforms.Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop content that reflects the values and vision for the School.Take responsibility for all in-house photography and events coverage.Monitor website and social media data to measure effectiveness and to optimise.Keep up to date with digital marketing trends and recommend innovative strategies to reach target audiences.School CommunicationsSupport the DMA in their overview of all school communications with parental body and wider constituencies.Edit the School’s newsletter, Scissorum, and support the production of other school publications (Concordia, The Taylorian) with the guidance of the DMA.Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of communication strategies and tactics, using analytics and metrics to measure the reach and engagement of communications.Update MTS entries in all relevant online guides; prepare and oversee their visits to the school.Assist the HR Department in placing teacher recruitment advertisements by preparing application support materials.Serve on the Communications Committee.GeneralWork occasional evenings and Saturdays to support School eventsSafeguarding responsibilities:It is the post holder’s responsibility for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and young persons for whom s/he is responsible, or with whom s/he comes into contact and to adhere to and ensure compliance with the School’s Safeguarding Policy Statement at all times.
