Job Description
Westover School is seeking applicants for the full-time, twelve-month position of Director of Constituent Engagement. This position reports directly to the Chief Development Officer and supervises the Assistant Director.
The Director provides both strategic insight and daily management of all aspects of engagement on behalf of the Office of Advancement. Westover is seeking a community builder and a connector who thrives supporting meaningful programming across generations and constituencies. They are comfortable engaging in relationship building both in-person and through virtual and digital, and are inspired by our mission. This is an opportunity to be creative.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the Alumnae Director, a community builder who is the primary point of contact for inquiries and opportunities from our alumnae;
Envision and execute all aspects of an annual memorable, fun, well-attended Reunion Weekend;
Lead the Board of Governors, including the Governance and Executive Committees;
Envision and execute a robust calendar of meaningful alumnae engagement opportunities and support the Families Liaison in event planning;
Grow the WestoverConnect community offerings (our community social page) to include networking and mentorship opportunities, continuing to supply relevant and timely content;
Develop Alumnae newsletter content;
Partner with the Communications Department to suggest and facilitate Alumnae highlights;
Find and create opportunities for alumnae to be highlighted and engaged with the life of the School;
Manage the Assistant Director; and
Various other duties as needed within the Alumnae and Development Office
Exercise good judgment in discussing alumni, issues and results. Maintain composure and calm demeanor in difficult situations.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of five years of events, volunteer management and relationship-building or translatable experience.
A community-builder, connector.
Excellent project management skills.
Initiative and self-starting capacity.
Negotiating, organizational, and analytical skills with an attention to detail.
Demonstrated comfort utilizing technology including databases, Google, and Microsoft products.
Proficiency and comfort with Social Media platforms.
Excellent communication skills and ability to connect with diverse and wide-ranging constituencies - students, parents, faculty, alumni, etc.
Demonstrated commitment to supporting an intentionally equitable and inclusive community and building a program that embraces diverse cultures and perspectives. Inspired by our mission.
