Position Profile
The Academic Marketing Assistant supports the Academic Marketing Team with a variety of tasks and projects.
Key Responsibilities
Assists in the preparation of US conferences:
- creating order forms
- managing iPad/Square systems
- Stocking supply packs
- Ordering supplies and keeping track of stock
- Packing up boxes to be sent to conferences
- Shipping from the office for conferences and events
- Assisting with sign-up sheets/showcards/other regular conference display materials
- Post-conference accounting
Acts As Secondary Marketer For Middle East Studies List
- Assist lead marketer with author care, social media posts, flyer creation, widget creation, etc
- Send monthly reviews emails/copies to relevant journals
- Schedule newsletter ecampaigns to North American list
- Manage any list conference preparation, including creating booklists, supply lists, and poster/banner design briefs
Marketing support for US Marketing Managers
- Create monograph email campaigns as assigned each quarter
- Check AIs and catalog preview pages every month (as assigned)
- Assist with other activities on a case-by-case basis
Assisting with the US Review copy inbox
- Process reviews and send out review copies as assigned (managed by other MA)
Social media responsibilities
- Formats and uploads blog posts for Literary Studies and Music & Sound Studies
- Assists with managing the 33 1/3 Twitter account by posting semi-regularly and building a social media calendar of possible posts
- Circulates a quarterly social media round-up with analysis of posts that performed well
Update product rails
- Update website product rails every other month
Salesforce Contact Management
- Customer database entry and updates
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Publishing or related field
- 0-1 years experience in Academic Publishing
- Microsoft Office (required)
- Adobe InDesign (helpful)
- Exposure to HTML
- Social media analytics tools – HooteSuite, Sprout Social or similar
- Email Service provider – Adestra, Silverpop, Exact Target, or similar
- Copywriting
- Time management and organizational skills
- Adaptability
- Written and oral communication skills
- Ability to travel for conferences
Location
Candidates must be able to commute to Bloomsbury USA’s New York City office on a hybrid schedule.
