The Role
We're looking for a creative, community-obsessed marketer to own Flux Capital's voice online and in the room. This is a rare opportunity to build something from the ground up — shaping how one of venture's most ambitious firms is perceived across social media, content, and live events.
You'll sit at the intersection of storytelling, community, and culture. Whether you're crafting a thread that goes viral, producing a founder dinner, or growing a newsletter that people actually open, you'll have the ownership and resources to do it right.
This role is ideal for someone early in their career who moves fast, thinks in content, and genuinely loves the startup ecosystem — or a seasoned director ready to put their fingerprints on a firm's entire external presence.
What You'll Do
Content & Social
- Own Flux Capital's presence across LinkedIn, X/Twitter, and emerging platforms
- Develop and execute a consistent content calendar — from investment announcements and portfolio spotlights to thought leadership and firm culture
- Write and produce original content: posts, threads, short-form video, newsletters, and blog pieces
- Collaborate with partners and portfolio founders to amplify their stories
- Track performance metrics and iterate based on what's resonating
Community & Events
- Design and produce Flux's event programming — founder dinners, LP gatherings, speaker series, and ecosystem convenings
- Build and nurture relationships with founders, operators, LPs, and press
- Own the Flux community from end to end: invite strategy, follow-up, and ongoing engagement
- Identify strategic partnerships and co-marketing opportunities with aligned funds, accelerators, and brands
Who You Are
- A natural storyteller who can translate complex ideas into content people want to engage with
- Highly organized and self-directed — you don't need a lot of hand-holding to ship
- Energized by the startup and venture ecosystem (you probably already follow it closely)
- Comfortable in a room full of founders and investors, and equally comfortable behind a screen crafting the perfect post
- Someone who takes creative ownership seriously and cares deeply about craft
Nice to Have
- Experience at a VC firm, startup, or agency serving the tech ecosystem
- An existing network in SF's founder or operator community
- Video production or design skills (Figma, Canva, CapCut, etc.)
- Experience running newsletters (Substack, Beehiiv, etc.)
Compensation
Competitive salary commensurate with experience. We take care of our team.
