The Association of American Medical Colleges (AAMC) Marketing Unit is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Marketing Intern to assist us with the development and execution of strategic integrated marketing campaigns across the organization. The selected candidate will have the opportunity to work on multiple campaigns for AAMC services, products, meetings, and more. The ideal candidate will have a strong interest in the field of marketing, be pursuing or have recently graduated with a degree in Marketing, and be able to work approximately 35 hours per week over the summer.

The AAMC Marketing Unit provides strategic marketing insights, brand positioning, communications, market research, and analytics to support AAMC services and programs that seek to generate revenue or increase membership or awareness and engagement. The team develops and executes marketing plans, prepares print and digital marketing materials, performs marketing research and serves as AAMC brand stewards. Understanding our community and business partner needs is essential for achieving our mission.

Development Opportunities

This position is an opportunity for tremendous professional growth in the field of marketing. The selected candidate will gain a better understanding of how marketing campaigns are developed and executed,how analytic data is used, as well as the opportunity to increase their ability to draw conclusions from that data. This is a hands-on role where the selected candidate will be able to apply what they've learned in their courses in real-time. The candidate will have the opportunity to work closely with experienced professionals and contribute to meaningful projects that align with our mission. Knowledge gained from this role will aid them in future professional endeavors and prepare them to work as part of team in a rapidly changing environment.

Responsibilities

  • Assists marketing directors, managers and senior specialists with the implementation of various marketing campaign tactics including, but not limited to, developing email, newsletter and paid social media campaign copy
  • Assists in developing marketing analytics reports using data from Google Analytics and Cvent
  • Assists various market research efforts, including but not limited to, surveys, competitor analyses, and market trends.
  • Collaborate with other marketing team members and key business partners across the organization

Qualifications

  • Must be a full or part-time student pursuing a bachelors degree in Marketing or have recently graduated with a degree in Marketing
  • Excellent analytical capabilities
  • Excellent organizational skills with a strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work well with a team
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and ability to work on multiple tasks concurrently
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint essential

This position may be eligible for remote work.

Compensation Grade Range And Mid-Point

Grade Range:$18.00 - $26.00/ Grade Mid-Point:$22.00

The above annual compensation range and mid-point are general guidelines. For candidates who meet the criteria, the AAMC's compensation philosophy is to target the midpoint of the salary range. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate’s work experience, education and training, as well as internal equity, market, and business considerations.

If a bachelor’s degree is required, related work experience may be substituted in some positions. One year of college course work at an accredited institution is equivalent to one year of related work experience.
