Job Summary

The Annual Giving Officer Intermediate joins the University Advancement team with a focus on making meaningful connections with all members of the university community, including current students, alumni, faculty and staff, retirees, parents and friends, corporations and foundations. You will serve an important role in University Advancement group and report to the Alumni Relations Officer Senior. The Annual Giving Officer Intermediate collaborates with all members of the University Advancement team, and partners across the Flint campus to implement and improve a comprehensive strategy that supports constituent engagement and giving across the continuum.

Responsibilities*

Annual Giving

  • Identify, qualify and solicit annual fund donors/prospects with the capacity to make gifts between $1,000-$10,00 by gathering data, assessing prospects, and developing strategies designed to work toward current and lifetime giving potential of individual prospects through a balanced and systematic moves management process.
  • Responsible for the identification, management and stewardship of class agents, reunion volunteers and reunion giving efforts.
  • Manage the Annual Giving program through development of appeals completed by Annual Giving in the Office of University Development -- Coordinate the design and deployment of annual giving print, electronic, and phone solicitations.
  • Help develop annual giving campaign plans and appeals with key university partners (chancellor, deans, directors, unit heads, and major gift officers) with goal to acquire new donors and upgrade existing donors.
  • Play key leadership role to the UA team charged with designing and promoting annual Giving Blueday initiatives.
  • Help provide oversight for student giving/fundraising projects.
  • Participate in Alumni Relations and Annual Giving strategic goal setting.
  • Help implement college-wide fundraising campaigns as it relates to the university-wide campaign.


Alumni Relations

  • Advise campus partners on best practices related to alumni annual giving and engagement, including events and communications.
  • Assist with alumni programming across a broad spectrum of topics; support for campus-wide alumni engagement and giving activities.
  • Provide content for the Alumni e-Newsletter.
  • Provide support and assistance to academic and administrative units when alumni engagement is requested (alumni panels, classroom panels, and more).


Data, Systems Management And Marketing

  • Track alumni engagement, which includes levels of involvement and philanthropic giving.
  • Manage communication technologies, promote technology trends and best practices, and provide vision to foster an environment rich in technology (social media, Salesforce/Marketing Cloud, ThankView, WordPress).


Required Qualifications*

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited university or college.
  • Two or more years of experience in annual giving/development.
  • Proven experience and understanding of annual giving.
  • Computer and technology skills, including data management, report development, web communications, and social media.


Work Schedule

Hybrid

A consistent hybrid work schedule (some days on campus and some days working remotely) is available for this position at this time. However, this is subject to change based on the duties of the position and the needs of the department.
