Social Media Manager

GrepBeat is a media organization covering all things tech for the Triangle and surrounding area. Through our email newsletter, website, podcasts, and events, we support the region’s tech entrepreneurs in an engaging and colorful way. See https://grepbeat.com.

To accelerate our efforts, we seek a full-time Social Media Manager to grow our social media channels, uplift our visual communications with graphics and short-form videos, and support our various initiatives.

Here’s what you would do:

• Drive activity and engagement across our social media channels, including LinkedIn, YouTube, and Instagram. You can also bring us to TikTok!
• Develop visual content (graphics, static images, and short-form videos) for our programs and various channels (social, email, in-person events).
• Produce online content – including podcasts and online streams.
• Help out with everything else that tends to pop up.

The ideal candidate has:

• A knack for the aforementioned things — and can show it from their past professional and/or personal experiences and social media content.
• Ease with social media sites and online marketing tools such as MailChimp, WordPress, Streamyard, Photoshop, or other video/graphic design software.
• Undergraduate journalism, media, and/or design degrees are a plus.
• Passion for all things tech, startups and the Triangle as well as the persistence, hustle, and energy to make things happen!

• This is a full-time position with salary and benefits commensurate with experience. This position could be appropriate for the right soon-to-be or recent graduate.
