The Company

Workweek is a media & technology company on a mission to connect, inform, and inspire professionals by intertwining unique insights with personality, community with technology, and productivity with fun.

In short, we do 2 things:

  1. First, we build media brands focused on specific business verticals that are driven by individual content creators (For example, I Hate It Here is an HR media brand driven by content created by our Chief People Officer Hebba Youssef)

  2. Then, we launch professional communities for those media brands’ audiences with the goal of fostering connection & growth for those professionals in their careers (For example, the Safe Space community, which is made up of members of the I Hate It Here audience.)

Simply put, we help professionals grow in their careers by providing them with the information, network, and resources they need to thrive.

The Role: 

We are looking for a Director of Content Marketing, Memberships to lead our efforts in crafting and executing high-impact content marketing campaigns aimed at boosting our paid memberships. This role is pivotal in generating top-of-funnel activity and gathering email leads from potential members eager to join our professional communities. You'll be at the helm of driving sales for our digital subscription products through strategic, data-driven marketing campaigns.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Campaign Leadership: Spearhead the strategic development and execution of content marketing campaigns designed to increase subscriptions within Workweek's professional communities and corresponding conferences
  • Data-Driven Optimization: Analyze performance data from marketing campaigns to identify trends, insights, and opportunities for optimization, ensuring we meet or exceed our revenue and conversion KPIs.
  • Team Management: Build, lead, and mentor a content marketing team, including Content Marketing Specialists and Copywriters, fostering an environment of creativity, efficiency, and growth.
  • Hands-On Contribution: Step in as an individual contributor when necessary to ensure timely campaign execution. This includes writing copy, making light edits to landing pages, and assisting with email and social media posts.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with senior leadership and key stakeholders across the organization to ensure alignment on marketing strategy, deliverables, and execution.

Qualifications:

  • Demonstrated experience leading content marketing campaigns with a focus on digital subscription sales.
  • Coordinate and oversee the content calendar, ensuring timely execution of deliverables. 
  • Strong analytical skills with a knack for interpreting data to inform marketing strategies and campaign optimizations.
  • Excellent copywriting skills and the willingness to dive into content creation as needed.
  • Comfortable working in a dynamic startup environment and capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously.
