Visual Designer - Temporary
The Office of Communications is looking for a Visual Designer who will manage all graphic design tasks, refine projects and drafts, and generate creative ideas. The ideal candidate will study design briefs and determine requirements, conceptualize visuals based on requirements, prepare rough drafts, and present ideas. In addition, they will develop illustrations, logos, and other designs using software while using the appropriate colors and layouts for each graphic. The Visual Designer will work with editors and the creative director to produce the final design.

Responsibilities
- Test graphics across various media
- Amend designs after feedback
- Ensure final graphics and layouts are visually appealing and on-brand
- Homepage designs/images; will work closely with the editorial team to upload images to the homepage stories
- Designing Princeton University collateral. Newsletter, handbooks, guides, events, commencement, illustrations, video graphics, websites, social media posts/graphics
- BA, BFA Degree, or related field
- 5+ years of work experience as a visual designer
- Proven graphic designing experience
- A strong portfolio with experience with logo design, typography, color, layout design, print production and image selections
- Proficient use of visual design technologies (such as InDesign, Illustrator, and Photoshop or other wire-framing tools
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel and PowerPoint)
- Strong aesthetic skills with the ability to combine various colors, fonts, and layouts
- Ability to meet deadlines while working on team projects
- Attention to visual details
- A keen eye for aesthetics and details
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work methodically and meet deadlines
- Incorporate feedback and take/give direction well
- Creative and software engineering/programming skills to design, build and improve websites
- UX experience
- Front-end developer
