Safety Support Specialist

Gensco currently has an amazing opportunity available to join our Operations Team at our Corporate Offices in Tacoma, WA as a Safety Specialist! Schedule - Monday- Friday 8:00am-4:30pm

Full Time - starting pay range $22-$28 per hour based on experience

Summary

  • Assist the Lead Safety Specialist in designing and managing Gensco’s safety programs to ensure the safety of all Team Members
  • Work with all Branches and Departments to develop a comprehensive and proactive safety program for all Team Members
  • Maintain and manage all documentation of each Safety program

Duties And Responsibilities 2. Safety Administration

  • Safety Program Management
  • Coordinate all incoming vehicle Dash Camera videos and notifications by alerting all appropriate parties promptly
  • Actively review all reported safety incidents and proactively make recommendations for improved safety practices and training for all Gensco locations
  • Lead all Corporate Safety Committee meetings and be responsible for the facilitation of these meetings and findings
  • Produce and distribute all Safety reporting
  • Coordinate the SAFER program while continually investigating new ways to improve the program
  • Produce monthly newsletter with safety awareness information, monthly training topics, and incident results
  • Work with the Risk Management team and branches to ensure all open incidents have all required documentation completed promptly
  • Update and maintain all Gensco safety program files and required records
  • Provide monthly, quarterly, and annual reports on Gensco’s safety program compliance and results
  • Update and maintain all safety-related documentation on genscoteam.com and work hand in hand with Operations to update documentation as needed
  • Actively manage, track, and report Gensco Team Member completion of required safety training

Education/Experience/Skills

  • High school diploma or GED required, 4-year degree preferred
  • Requires 2-4 years of related experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong computer skills (MS Office) with Excel proficiency required
  • Strong organizational skills to include the ability to maintain accurate, detailed records
  • Strong people skills, recognize when to use formal or informal approach, not easily intimidated, accessible, ability to say “no” in a firm but polite manner
  • Willing to “think outside of the box” and identify process improvement opportunities
  • High degree of honesty, ethics, and integrity with prior work experience handling confidential information preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to manage details and meet deadlines with 100% accuracy in a multi-task environment
  • Work effectively in both independent and Team settings
  • Able to work sitting or standing and to move freely throughout the facility
  • Able to lift and carry equipment and supplies on a frequent basis
