VP of Marketing

Are you looking for a rewarding career with a growing organization? Credit Union of Georgia is looking for a talented and experienced VP of Marketing to help grow the Credit Union.

The VP of Marketing is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining the Credit Union’s marketing strategies, promotions and advertising of Credit Union products and services, and all related promotional media, as well as coordinating public relations for the Credit Union. The VP of Marketing will research marketing needs and analyze marketing trends for the Credit Union. Data mining will be necessary to ensure the right products and services are offered to the right members at the right time, striving to proactively use data to meet our members financials wants and needs.

Responsibilities

  • for upholding and adhering to Credit Union of Georgia brand standards including following all the steps of journEASE our unique member experience program and to Engage, Ask, Solve, and Excite and deliver top level member service every time.
  • for the preparation and implementation of a Strategic Plan for the Marketing Department and overall organization and direction for the Marketing Department in conjunction with strategic growth and financial profitability plans developed by the Board of Directors and the Executive Leadership Team by translating business strategies into workable marketing tactics and activities.
  • for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of all marketing initiatives within the Credit Union while adhering to the approved departmental budget. Responsible for preparing and managing annual marketing budget as approved by the Board of Directors. Ensuring budget aligns with Credit Union Strategic Plan and departmental needs while monitoring progress on a regular basis.
  • for collecting, analyzing, and interpreting large datasets to uncover valuable insights and patterns that can be used to increase member growth or launch targeted marketing campaigns. This data will identify market trends and demographic data that involves current and prospective members. Maintains awareness of trends in the Credit Union industry that can affect marketing and advertising. Responsible for research and for the creative development of ideas to promote Credit Union products and services and for recommending new products and services, or changes to existing products and services, that will help meet the changing financial needs of the Credit Union’s member and financial goals of the organizaion.
  • for writing, creating, editing, coordinating, and disseminating publications, banner ads, marketing materials, monthly member newsletter, forms, promotional letters, on hold messaging, member communications, and press releases. Also responsible for reporting on the effectiveness of marketing and advertising efforts.
  • for the creation, design, and ongoing maintenance of the Credit Union Internet and Intranet sites.
  • designs, and prices the organization’s advertising campaigns and advertising materials.
  • new and existing product implementation, administration, and sales, while also managing internal and external partnerships including vendor management.
  • marketing initiatives, campaigns, and promotions to determine the impact on financial decisions including profitability results to determine level of success.
  • for pricing, negotiating, and ordering credit union promotional giveaway items and maintaining inventory according to budgetary limits.
  • for generating regular reports for new member mailings and for the purpose of tracking promotions as required. Also responsible for providing regular monthly reports of activity for Marketing Department to be included in the Board Package. Coordinates the Annual Meeting, including production of reports, facilities, and meeting logistics.

  • the Credit Union through coordinating and attending various events, sponsorships, activities, and donations (such as CMN, Relay for Life, Bowl-A-Thon, Toys for Tots, job fairs, new teacher orientations, grand openings, etc.).
  • coach, and develop department employees to be engaged, knowledgeable and committed to excellence. Responsible for managing staff assigned to the Marketing Department including annual appraisals and scorecards while making regular notations in the Performance Management System, and for administering disciplinary actions when necessary. Also, scheduling, and approving time sheets and maintaining an awareness of attendance and punctuality.
  • awareness of (and help ensure compliance with) applicable laws and regulations in the development of promotions, advertising including disclosure requirements and website compliance, and for the delivery methods for those promotions for Credit Union products and services.
  • Other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Five to ten years of similar or related experience, including time spent in preparatory positions.
  • Credit Union or banking experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in marketing or similar field.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Time management skills.
  • Experience leading a team.
  • Strong background leveraging analytics.
  • Ability to think strategically and execute on plans.
