POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are looking for someone who can develop and own the editorial strategy for our high-profile newsletter products while helping shape organization-wide best practices. This will include refining existing newsletters and identifying opportunities for new ones to grow audiences and deepen engagement. You will be an editor, mentor, and writer, working with partners across the organization. As a collaborative, nimble leader, you also will have a confident writing style, an ability to tailor your work to the audience, and a passion for experimentation and innovation.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Develop and execute editorial strategy for core newsletter products.
  • Define strategies to help grow audiences and engagement and build the Chamber brand.
  • Partner effectively with senior leadership, department heads, and communications colleagues to learn issues, understand the big picture, and identify opportunities for new initiatives.
  • Edit some products and write others.
  • Analyze metrics, share results, and iterate based on findings.
  • Provide direction and feedback to individual teams as they refine newsletter strategies.
  • Ask questions, drive growth, and boost engagement.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, marketing, or communications or a related discipline.
  • At least six years’ experience writing, editing, and curating newsletters, blogs, or other products with a distinct audience focus.
  • Strong analytic skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to flex to different writing styles.
  • A keen eye for detail and a commitment to flawless execution.
  • A growth and learning mindset characterized by an openness to challenging assumptions at the organizational and personal levels.
  • Demonstrated organizational and business savvy, with a proven ability to interact and influence at all levels.
  • Strong techniques around guiding corporate messaging with diplomacy and sensitivity for a range of audiences.
  • Highly collaborative and a self-starter.
