Vice President of Marketing – International NPO

M SEARCH has been retained by an international, mission-driven, non-profit organization, who is currently seeking a dynamic marketing leader to serve as VP of Marketing for the south Florida region. The ideal candidate will be a highly strategic marketing leader who is looking for an opportunity to join a highly impactful organization and serve as a thought-partner to a transformational leadership team. Responsibilities will include:


  • Support all organization departments' promotional needs including the development of appropriate materials and advertisements.
  • Conduct programs designed for prominent individuals to increase their understanding and support of the organization as follows: Initiate programs focused on the participation of members of the Board of Directors, associates, and friends. Develop and conduct programs for special guests or targeted individuals or groups of individuals. Develop a plan, recruit, and train a team of backup employees and volunteers who can assist in this effort.
  • Develop Annual Reports, to inform the community about the organization’s accomplishments during the previous year. Distribute the Annual Reports as a vehicle to raise additional funds for the agency.
  • Maintain an updated set of promotional materials designed to tell the organization’s story.
  • Seek or assist in pursuing any other opportunities to raise funds or secure grants. Acknowledge all contributions promptly and in a manner that will continue to foster additional or increased support from donors.
  • Keep all local media informed so that they can use the organization’s name for media story background coverage.
  • Respond to all media inquiries and, together with the President, act as spokesperson for the organization.
  • Implement a Newsletter to distribute at regular intervals, which will be interesting and appropriate to specific target groups such as the Board of Directors, donors, funding sources, and employees.
  • Conduct a program to provide recognition to all of those who perform good deeds on behalf of the organization.
  • Review and edit important communications and documents.
  • Perform any other duties as assigned.


Requirements:


  • B.S. Degree in Marketing or equivalent education and experience.
  • Individuals should have at least 8 years of demonstrated experience performing community relations, fundraising, and similar activities related to the needs of our organization at a high managerial level.
  • The position requires 8 - 10 years of experience in not-for-profit fund-raising, Marketing, or related positions where an individual would have an opportunity to develop and establish a close rapport with high-level business, civic and political leaders.
  • Computer literate. Excellent public speaking skills. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is highly desirable.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents. Ability to respond effectively to highly sensitive inquiries or complaints. Ability to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or styles. Ability to make effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Synthesize complex or diverse information; Collect and research data; Use intuition and experience to complement data; Design workflows and procedures.
