The Motorcycle Industry Council (MIC) is the national trade association representing manufacturers and distributors of motorcycles, scooters, motorcycle/ATV/ROV parts and accessories, and members of allied trades such as insurance, finance and investment firms, media companies and consultants.

The MIC produces AIMExpo, the powersports industry’s annual tradeshow, and has recently launched Ride With Us, a market expansion initiative designed to get more riders, riding more.The MIC’s marketing team is looking for a Content Creator & Community Manager to join the AIMExpo and Ride With Us team. This position is responsible for creating and supporting marketing initiatives to grow our digital community. They will be responsible for developing high-quality content for websites, social media, and other platforms as well as monitor trends and topics within our community and build our brand(s) online presence. A marker of success will be how well the person is able to foster stronger relationships between the brand, influencers and other key players in the market and the public.

The ideal candidate will bring leadership, enthusiasm, energy, and a collaborative spirit. Someone who enjoys working with and in the Powersports industry is a must!

Objectives Of This Role

– Maximize consumer engagement with content on various social media platforms

– Share insights on content and work to create engaging content with a purpose

– Develop RWU’s marketing and branding presence throughout all channels

– Drive collaboration to unify marketing output and maximize usage and reach of all content

– Improve RWU’s search engine optimization (SEO) presence

– Widen RWU’s marketing reach

– Grow RWU’s e-newsletter database and social media followers

Job Duties Include (but Aren’t Limited To)

– Work with the marketing, creative, and customer experience team to create high quality, engaging, relevant, and timely content for RWU channels

– Source and manage content creators to drive additional and diverse content

– Curate content from external Social Media channels, leverage followers and create a larger digital community

– Monitor digital engagement metrics

– Promote RWU and motorcycling to new audiences

– Research market trends and developments relevant to campaign subject matter

– Serve as a point of contact for the company’s social media platforms such as Facebook, YouTube, Instagram, and blog

– Interact with community members and customers in a professional, personable, and timely manner to grow and keep the community and discussion alive

– Manage the social media editorial calendar and ensure the content is published by the stipulated deadlines

– Foster and strengthen new relationships with key influencers, content creators, groups etc within the community

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of proven progressive experience in social media marketing and/or content creation
  • Must be a capable motorcycle rider
  • Interest in learning the powersports industry is a requirement, previous experience in the industry is a plus
  • Outstanding copywriting, social media, and video production skills
  • Significant, proven experience creating high-quality content
  • Strong knowledge of SEO best practices
  • Ability to work effectively without much oversight
  • Confident written and verbal communication skills
  • Superb organizational and time-management abilities
  • High degree of computer literacy
  • Experience in community management
  • Competent in all major social media platforms
  • Capable of managing multiple competing priorities
  • Comprehensive understanding of impactful marketing tactics
  • Ability and willingness to travel- To various events, meetings, and film opportunities. (8-15x a year)
