About the Role


Operating as part of the research team, the Director of Research, Infrastructure will lead the strategy and growth of the infrastructure technology topic within the business. This is a management role where the individual will be responsible for the overall execution and strategy of infrastructure research track, collaborating with sales, marketing, and operations on retention of existing members and acquisition of new members, developing relationships with member companies, programming and leading construction technology events, and ensuring alignment of the program to the overall business. In addition, this individual may be asked to take on a position of leadership of the research team as a whole. 


Responsibilities:


  • Overseeing the planning and execution of annual performance goals for the Infrastructure Research Category 
  • Take on a role of public-facing thought leadership in the AEC community including speaking engagements at BuiltWorlds and partner events, writing analyst briefings and content, and leading group discussions around infrastructure topic areas.
  • Overseeing the execution and quality of infrastructure research reports, lists, articles, forum meetings, and conference events.
  • Lead programming efforts for infrastructure discussions at conferences and virtually.
  • Develop and manage a product roadmap to update and expand product offerings and coordinate with leadership to define annual objectives across all research track offerings
  • Collaborate with marketing and sales to develop newsletter materials, sales collateral, and assist in efforts to grow the business.
  • Partner with other analyst team members to support the growth and health of research initiatives, products, and future offerings
  • Develop and Lead the infrastructure analyst team within BuiltWorlds, including hiring, managing, and growing research analysts and senior analysts.


Minimum Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent
  • Proven track record of expertise and deep knowledge of the construction industry
  • 5+ years' in the digital side of an engineering and construction company or related consulting, advisory, professional network, research analyst, technology, or similar role.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Experience managing others.
  • Superior analytical, writing, and presentation skills.
  • Self-starter who can operate autonomously in a startup environment.
  • Ability to travel to BuiltWorlds events and partner events as needed.
