Annual Giving Manager

Purpose: The Annual Giving Manager supports and develops strategic engagement opportunities for annual fund donors. The Annual Giving Manager is responsible for increasing the number of Mount Annual Fund supporters, renewing and upgrading donor support, and strengthening relationships with current donors. The Annual Giving Manager also assists in developing and implementing annual fundraising strategies, as well as related campaigns and appeals, with the assistance of the Institutional Advancement Directors and Vice President.
Duties
Supervision Exercised: May oversee student co-op workers.
Supervision Received: Reports to and receives supervision from the Director of Engagement and Advancement Communications. Works under general direction towards broadly defined objectives; refer specific problems to the Vice President for Institutional Advancement when clarification or interpretation of organizational policies are involved.
Qualifications
Education: Minimum: Bachelor’s degree
Experience: Minimum of two (2) years working in Philanthropy, Annual Giving, Alumni Relations in Higher Education, or related field. A combination of work experience and industry experience will be considered.
Specialized Training
Computer data input; multiple concurrent tasks with constant service interruptions; high level customer contact; strict confidentiality; detailed work and some regional and national travel.

Duties
- Create, design, implement, and evaluate the university’s annual fund strategies and annual fund campaign, including mailings, appeals, reports, and other relevant correspondence with guidance from the Director of Engagement and Advancement Communications.
- Develop a set of parameters for list generation and segmentation; oversee print, mail and fulfillment timelines with outside vendors.
- Liaise with Philanthropy Advisors regarding supporters with greater potential.
- Document all donor and data processes;
- Participate in special event planning and implementation as needed.
- Continue to build relationships with a wide range of alumni and donors, locally, regionally, and nationally; maintain regular communication via direct contact, email, web pages, and print publications;
- Manage campaigns for multiple constituencies including alumni, employees, students, and parents. Appeals include, but are not limited to: direct mail, employee campaign, Back to School, Year-End and #GivingTuesday, Day of Giving, etc.
- In coordination with the Director of Engagement and Advancement Communications and the Alumni Manager, write and manage Mount Annual Fund communications; including but not limited to: Around the Mount E-Newsletter, Mount News Magazine, and social media.
- In coordination with the Director of Engagement and Advancement Communications, develop performance metrics and reporting to manage productivity and track campaign and appeal progress.
- Manage or assist with mailing logistics needed for activities related to annual fund campaigns and/or appeals.
- Track and retrieve gift information; answer phone inquiries from alumni and donors.
- Represent MSJ at community and alumni events and occasional public speaking assignments.
- Contribute to the overall success of the Office of Institutional Advancement.
- Other duties as assigned.

- Preferred proficiency in Blackbaud’s Raiser’s Edge or similar donor software database.
- Basic understanding of the Adobe Suite or similar design software.
