About The Role

Your role would be to support the exciting and significant growth plans we have for our US and Canadian business. To do this, we are seeking a dynamic Senior Marketing Manager to spearhead our marketing initiatives across the regions. You'll be pivotal in developing comprehensive marketing strategies that target key markets and services, ensuring alignment with our global objectives. The successful candidate will work collaboratively across borders to craft and implement innovative marketing campaigns, manage regional email campaigns, and organize a range of events from virtual to in-person. Work-life balance

At Steer, we believe that a healthy work-life balance is paramount to long term success, which is why all employees seeking a full-time opportunity are encouraged to spend 60% of their time either in office or on-site with clients and why we aim to keep our employee’s typical work week to 40 hours, reflective of client needs. Compensation

The salary range for all applicants are $95,000 to $120,000 USD.

Do be advised that this is an estimated benchmark salary of good faith for the States of New York and California. All compensation, regardless of location, may be subject to change as skills, abilities, internal equity and geographic location are taken into account.

In addition to base salary, all employees will be eligible for an annual discretionary performance bonus. Please review the benefits section for more information on total reward.

Steer reserves the right to ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and offer additional compensation.

Requirements

Key responsibilities (but are not limited to):

  • Strategic Marketing Planning: Take the helm in creating and implementing detailed marketing strategies for the US and Canada, focusing on key markets, services, and growth trajectory implementation plans (GTIPs). This includes conducting thorough market analysis, segmenting audiences, and setting clear, measurable objectives. Specifically, in North America, take charge of three key business areas: Rail Advisory, Equity and Sustainability, crafting strategies that drive growth and innovation
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Serve as the primary liaison among marketing teams across the region to ensure the seamless execution of marketing campaigns. Foster a culture of open communication, encourage the sharing of insights and best practices, and coordinate efforts to achieve a unified marketing approach that appeals to diverse audiences
  • Strategic Alignment with Business Goals: Regularly meet with regional heads of business to grasp their strategic goals and priorities. Leverage these insights to align marketing activities with business objectives, ensuring marketing efforts contribute significantly to the company’s growth and success in each region
  • Email Campaign Management: Manage the entirety of regional email marketing campaigns, from concept development and content creation to distribution and performance analysis. This includes segmenting target audiences, crafting engaging content, and utilizing analytics to refine campaigns. A key responsibility will be the regular creation and execution of the North America newsletter, *The Edit*, which requires monthly refreshment and content sourcing
  • Event Planning and Execution: Organize and deliver a broad spectrum of events, including virtual webinars, hybrid events, and traditional in-person gatherings, catering to the specific needs of each region. This covers event conceptualisation, logistics planning, promotional activities, attendee engagement strategies, and post-event feedback to assess impact
  • Content Collaboration and Editorial Planning: Collaborate closely with consultants create content and create a unified content strategy that aligns with the company’s marketing goals and brand messaging. Oversee the production of high-quality, compelling content across various channels, manage an editorial calendar for timely publication, and ensure content supports key marketing campaigns and events
  • Global Marketing Coordination: Work in tandem with marketing managers in other regions to ensure a consistent and cohesive marketing message worldwide. This involves regular communication to synchronize marketing efforts, exchange insights and learnings, and adapt global campaigns for regional relevance

What we expect from you:

  • 5-10 years experience in a professional services or consultancy marketing role
  • Experience in developing and implementing strategic marketing plans to support business objectives
  • Excellence in internal client/stakeholder management and confidence in dealing with people at all levels
  • A deep understanding of marketing combined with an ability to apply best practices to changing business demands
  • Highly articulated individual with excellent written / oral communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and remain calm under pressure
  • Proactive can-do team player attitude
  • Good creative thinking ability
  • Degree or equivalent qualification
  • Excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office products; web content management system; online advertising packages (e.g. Google Adwords); Google suite
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
