Director of Communications and Member Engagement

The Additive Manufacturer Green Trade Association (AMGTA) is a non-profit global trade association focused on elevating and promoting the environmental benefits of industrial additive manufacturing, also known as 3D printing. The AMGTA seeks a multi-faceted, career-minded Director of Communications and Engagement who will be responsible for a portfolio of activities to engage our current members, prospective members, partners, and industry leaders in our efforts.



The person selected for this role will be part of a small, nimble team for which no task is too big or too small, no two days will be the same, and your creative ideas will be welcome and necessary. The role requires a keen ability to see both opportunities and challenges through all the clutter. Bring your sharp business acumen and communications skills and we can teach you the rest.


This role is based in the Hollywood/Fort Lauderdale, FL area. This is a full-time, in-person position and will include domestic and international travel.



Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide leadership in all aspects of stakeholder engagement, communications strategy development and execution, e.g. LinkedIn presence, member newsletter, website content
  • Develop and execute a member-communications strategy to inform, engage, and provide value to our members while elevating the profile of the association
  • Provide leadership for organizing and executing our annual member summit event
  • Provide leadership in establishing, maintaining, and enhancing relationships with partners, relevant industry influencers, and media contacts
  • Monitor industry activities and news to identify and recognize engagement opportunities and challenges
  • Prepare or contribute to industry presentations, press releases, articles
  • Collaborate with the Executive Director in developing overall organizational objectives, strategy, and tactics


Qualifications, Abilities and Skills:

  • Enthusiasm for a role that is driving better practices to address global environmental impacts
  • A can-do, self-starting, and entrepreneurial spirit drawing energy from the innovative space we occupy to drive change
  • Relevant college degree and/or experience to deliver on the responsibilities and expectations of the role
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills for a wide range of audiences
  • Ability to craft an effective message for a specific audience or a broad inclusive audience
  • Ability to manage time critical projects, and the ability to realign priorities and resources
  • Working knowledge of Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint
  • Accountable and detail oriented
  • Ability and willingness to travel as needed – 2-3 times per year
  • Ability to prioritize and work on a variety of projects simultaneously, adjust to changing priorities, meet deadlines and objectives
  • Comfortable working in an environment that can be ambiguous, evolving, build-as-we-go, and at times without complete information
  • Not required but a plus:
  • Experience working for a member-based or trade association, or other non-profit
  • Experience in corporate responsibility, corporate sustainability, ESG, EHS
  • Experience in additive manufacturing, other manufacturing practices, or supply chain


Work Environment:

While this is an in-person, Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm role, you can expect flexibility and we will require flexibility to accommodate virtual meetings in various global time zones, and domestic and international travel


Compensation and Benefits:
