Position Overview

Join the team that shapes the Company’s strategic direction and approach to addressing one of the world’s most complex and ever-evolving issues: privacy and data protection.

This position is the owner of the Global Workplace Privacy Program, a center within the Global Privacy Office and Program in which we contextualize our privacy principles, requirements, and best deployment practices for the employment context – how we protect the privacy rights and freedoms of all individuals found throughout the working lifecycle, from candidates, to employees, contingent works, former employees, and retirees.

The position is a blend of internal client-facing responsibilities, such as consulting the Company’s top leaders on the privacy implications and solutions for major employee and workplace personal data processes, as well as operational responsibilities, such as owning and maintaining key Workplace Privacy policies, specifications, and processes as the privacy regulatory landscape evolves.

Summary Of Major Responsibilities

Global Program Management & Operational Excellence:

  • Owns Global Policy 20.1: Global Workplace Privacy as well as the suite of Workplace Privacy Specifications, the essential standards with which we provide contextualized implementation guidance on privacy requirements and controls within the employment context.
  • Owns and proactively maintains the Workplace Privacy pathway of the enterprise Privacy Impact Assessment, ensuring the assessment stays ahead of regulatory developments and ensures workplace-related personal data activities are compliance and ethical.

Strategic Internal Consultation

  • Build relationships and stays connected with the Company’s leaders responsible for the major employee and workplace data strategies (Global HR, IT, etc.), to provide strategic, solution-oriented privacy guidance on how to achieve their business outcomes in a privacy-compliance manner.
  • Supports the priorities and projects of the US/HQ Privacy Compliance function and efforts to stay ahead of state law developments impacting workplace and commercial data subjects.
  • Maintains a network and forums to exchange privacy questions and issues from stakeholders as they arise from within key stakeholder areas.

Privacy Expertise & Reviews

  • As necessary, conduct formal privacy reviews of personal data activities in the workplace, leveraging GPO tools such as the Privacy Impact Assessment, Data Processing Impact Assessment, and others to identify activity privacy risks and solutions to remediate those risks.

Collaboration & Networking

  • Collaborate with other members of the GPO as well as Privacy Stewards from around the world, to provide advice on complex workplace privacy issues such as potential privacy incidents or breaches, high risk personal data activities, developing regulatory changes.
  • Stay abreast of the external privacy regulatory landscape and participate in external associations to generate connections and collect best practices.
  • Manage the cross-GPO process through which the monthly Privacy Newsletter is prepared and delivered.

Career Development

  • Participate in GPO projects which will provide exposure and new experiences into other areas of privacy, other stakeholder groups, other areas of ethics and compliance, and geographies.

Position Qualifications

Location:

  • This role is based at our Headquarters site in Rahway, NJ (USA), with a Hybrid setup (combination of an in-office & remote).
  • This position cannot be 100% remote.

Education : Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in relevant field is required.

Required Experience And Skills

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in privacy, data protection, IT, IT security, HR Management, business, and/or strategy roles. Have working knowledge of privacy programs, controls and principles.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with HR processes and systems or related functional areas, such as other global support functions in which employee data is collect and used.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with operational design and implementation, change management.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in leading, engaging and influencing project and cross-functional teams; including a passion for coaching and developing early in career talent.
  • Maintain a global mindset, providing a privacy program which can be universally applied as well as balance local exceptions and needs.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; proven ability to network internally and externally; and works effectively with all organizational levels.
  • Work with a sense of urgency and tenacious execution, with strong personal accountability for driving results.
  • Experience in simplifying complex information and privacy concepts, to enable understanding, commitment, and alignment.
  • Maintain a solution-oriented mindset, balancing privacy requirements with business objectives of stakeholders.
  • Comfortable challenging the status quo and possesses ability to influence and manage stakeholders.
  • Demonstrates empathy and emotional intelligence.

U.S. Hybrid Work Model

Effective September 5, 2023, employees in office-based positions in the U.S. will be working a Hybrid work consisting of three total days on-site per week, generally Tuesday, Wednesday and either Monday or Thursday, although the specific days may vary by site or organization, with Friday designated as a remote-working day, unless business critical tasks require an on-site presence. This Hybrid work model does not apply to, and daily in-person attendance is required for, field-based positions; facility-based, manufacturing-based, or research-based positions where the work to be performed is located at a Company site; positions covered by a collective-bargaining agreement (unless the agreement provides for hybrid work); or any other position for which the Company has determined the job requirements cannot be reasonably met working remotely. Under New York State, Colorado State, Washington State, and California State law, the Company is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the salary range for this job. Final determinations with respect to salary will take into account a number of factors, which may include, but not be limited to the primary work location and the chosen candidate’s relevant skills, experience, and education.

Expected Salary Range

$122,800.00 - $193,300.00
