Marketing Associate
Are you passionate about hospitality? Luxury camping and the outdoors? Building great brands? Do you get excited about social media algorithms and SEO, but also love to write and generate content? We are looking for a motivated, organized, and entrepreneurial person to join our small team and lead our marketing efforts. You will be responsible for managing our social media accounts, generating content (photo and video), email newsletters, working with influencers, and fielding press requests. You will mostly be working remotely but will need to be in Ithaca on a regular basis for content generation.
This position is currently being offered as part-time hourly work and has the potential to transition into full time as our company grows.
Immediate responsibilities may include but are not limited to:
- Manage all social media platforms including regular posting on Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, YouTube, and others. Create content calendars, curate dynamic content from guests, secure brand sponsorships for new content generation, drive audience engagement, design, test, and execute advertising campaigns, and stay on top of the latest trends.
- Write copy, design, and administer monthly newsletters (We use Flodesk)
- Generate photo and video content from onsite visits to Firelight and the Ithaca area.
- Make periodic updates and fixes to our website (SquareSpace).
- Generate periodic simple graphics for social media accounts or website (Canva or other).
- Serve as main point of contact with influencers, press, and brand partners.
- Ensure brand messaging and customer experience is consistent throughout all internal and external customer touch points.
- Contribute and curate engaging content for the Firelight Camps blog.
Qualifications, desired skillsets, and experience:
- 2+ years experience managing business social media accounts. Travel, tourism, lifestyle, or hospitality industry experience a plus.
- Experience with content production across photo, video, copy, and graphic assets.
- Thorough knowledge of social media channels and related measurement software, tools, and procedures.
- Excellent writer with ability to adopt our brand voice for newsletter campaigns and other written communications.
- Familiarity with hospitality revenue and profitability metrics preferred but not required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, Squarespace, and data analytics tools and apps. Adobe Suite and Flodesk experience a plus.
- Study and courses in marketing, communications, or related field.
- Authentic passion for hospitality, travel, tourism, and the outdoors.
- Passionate about using data to support your recommendations.
- Ability to work independently and remotely.
- Strong organizational, interpersonal, and analytical skills.
- Authorized to work in the USA.
