Conceives, plans, develops, and manages projects for the Company’s employee communications campaigns. Communications include written materials, videotaping and editing, audio recording and visuals. Manages the creation of weekly company newsletter and oversees the maintenance of Company intranet. Distributes memos, executive communications, and newsletters. Takes part in planning, developing, and reviewing internal video communication. Creates strong working relationships with internal business units to develop and distribute internal communications. Supervises, coaches, and reviews staff work to ensure it is on target, in the Company voice, contains accurate information and is free of grammatical and typographical errors.

Responsibilities

  • Partners with various business units throughout the Company to develop and manage employee communication campaigns, including written materials such as memos and executive communications, videotaping and editing, audio recording and the coordination of visuals.
  • Manages the creation of weekly newsletter, including planning and writing stories, working with team members to generate stories, and reviewing and editing final product for accuracy, clarity, voice, grammar, punctuation, spelling and AP Style.
  • Oversees maintenance of Company’s intranet, including writing, editing, proofreading. Works with IT and Digital Marketing team to make architecture changes to the site and keep information current.
  • Supervises team members to ensure projects stay on track and support overall department and company goals. Reviews work of team members for accuracy, clarity, voice, grammar, punctuation, spelling and AP Style.
  • Writes, edits, and proofreads internal memos and executive communications to ensure accuracy, clarity, and appropriateness. Ensures the Company’s voice is used and helps convey the Company’s mission, strategy, policies, and performance.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, journalism or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 7 years progressive experience as a Corporate Communications Specialist, or equivalent journalism or corporate communications experience, preferably in health insurance, healthcare, or financial services.
  • Internal/employee communications experience preferred.

Technical Skills And Knowledge

  • The story-creation and detail-oriented skills of a journalist, with the ability to create positive messaging.
  • Impeccable writing and editing skills, with a demonstrated command of grammar, spelling, sentence structure and AP Style.
  • Excellent proofreading skills.
  • Strong project management skills and ability to work with multiple departments simultaneously.
  • Video storytelling skills, with experience in software such as Premiere a plus.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, including SharePoint.
