Job Description Summary

The WF LEAP Junior Administrative Support Intern will support the Program Coordinators (Wake Downtown Administrative team) in key functions required to offer the six-week summer internship program. This includes contact with faculty and graduate co-mentors and with high school LEAP interns.

Essential Functions

Communications

  • Contribute content to the Weekly Friday Mentor/Co-Mentor Newsletter . Include weekly updates about intern activities, relevant photos, mentoring topics, and important reminders.
  • Periodically (at least weekly) create social media posts (primarily utilizing Instagram) to promote the program and activities and highlight partners and contributors.

Events and Activities

  • Assist with the planning and organization of one to two WF LEAP alumni events.

Contributions

  • Write a brief weekly report detailing your activities and contributions to the program and any key reflective moments for review by Program Coordinators.

Program Activity Support

  • Attend lunch on Tuesdays with interns to check in on student progress and encourage them to attend Tuesday afternoon enrichment activities.
  • Participate in Tuesday afternoon enrichment activities with interns, typically 1:00 pm - 3:30 pm.
  • Accompany students to and/or from campus locations with which they may be unfamiliar. Examples include: riding the shuttle with a student; ZSR Library, Dining Halls, campus buildings for informational interviews.
  • Support all-day Friday Professional Development activities by attending and assisting Program Coordinators in preparing for the day. (E.g. setting up lunches, ensuring accurate headcount, acquiring last-minute items.)
