Nature Of Work

The Human Resources Intern will be introduced to a variety of HR functions and will partner with the HR Department on projects that have impact on the Company’s operations. This is an internship for undergraduate and graduate students working toward a degree in Business Administration, Human Resources, Communications, or related discipline. The time commitment for this internship is 20-29 hours per week and will receive compensation based on the city’s minimum wage.

Examples Of Work Performed

  • Actively participate in company and department projects.
  • Processes required paperwork for employee transfers, changes in job classification, salary increases, and other related employment matters.
  • Takes minutes during departmental meetings.
  • Assist with KSE Internship Program activities and initiatives.
  • Research, develop, and recommend procedures to integrate appropriate technologies into recruitment, development, and engagement processes.
  • Assist Human Resources department with organizing and maintaining personnel files and other HR records to ensure compliance with legal requirements.
  • Assist with the HR quarterly newsletter by providing content, edits and distribution.
  • Attend monthly New Hire check-in.
  • Asist in planning and implementing employee engagement activities.
  • Participate as an active member of the Onboarding and Generalist committees.
  • All Colorado Interns are required to attend all KSE Internship Program hosted events that occur during business hours. If unable to attend due to work, school or unforeseen circumstance, the Intern must inform the Internship Program Committee.
  • All Interns are required to participate in the KSE Mentorship Program by meeting with assigned Mentor in person or virtually at least for the initial meet-up.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Minimum
  • High School or GED
  • Applicants must meet minimum qualifications at the time of hire.
  • Preferred
  • Working towards a BS/BA degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Communications or similar

  • Ability to maintain positive attitude and demonstrate professionalism

  • Ability to operate general office equipment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to type 60 words a minute.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or similar software.

Compensation

  • Base hourly rate - $18.29 per hour
