Marketing Director

Magnet Media is seeking an experienced, visionary Marketing Director to lead our marketing efforts and drive the continued growth and success of our agency. In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive marketing strategies, driving opportunities and prospects to our sales team, overseeing all marketing campaigns, and ensuring a consistent and compelling brand presence across all channels.

Job Functions:

  • Develop and implement a cohesive marketing strategy that aligns with the company's business objectives, positioning Magnet as a leading global brand storytelling studio in our core industries.
  • Oversee the planning, execution, and optimization of multi-channel marketing campaigns, including digital marketing, lead generation campaigns, content marketing, email, video and social media, events, and digital advertising.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the success of marketing initiatives –including the top level objectives (expanding engagement with more prospects, via our events and content) and channel-specific analytics (email, events, social media). Provide regular reports and data-driven insights to the leadership team.
  • Collaborate with our Head of Growth and the Sales team to ensure they have up-to-date, relevant, and specific marketing assets that best describe our services in a way that appeals to prospective customers. And to coordinate sales and marketing efforts to boost brand awareness and engage prospects, consistently.
  • Collaborate closely with the creative, design, and production teams to ensure seamless integration of marketing efforts with our storytelling and content creation processes.
  • Execute our newsletter and event strategy, including topical themes of relevance to our target audience (brand marketers), and booking speakers from our client and prospects in thoughtful conversations.
  • Analyze prospect’s behavior, identifying opportunities, and new designing branding strategies.
  • Stay on top of industry trends, and put a process in place to routinely gather insights to identify new opportunities, and to reach target audiences at scale.
  • Develop and manage the marketing budget, allocating resources effectively and optimizing spend for maximum ROI.
  • Identify and implement effective lead generation and client acquisition strategies to drive business growth.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest marketing and storytelling trends, technologies, and best practices, and continuously explore new and innovative ways to enhance our marketing efforts.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of marketing professionals, fostering a collaborative and creative environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Proven track record of developing and executing successful marketing campaigns across multiple channels.
  • Experience with content and email and marketing –including knowledge of basic martech solutions like Hubspot – with recent experience in a management role, preferably in the advertising, creative services, or marketing agency environment.
  • Strong creative instincts and understanding of brand management, content marketing, digital marketing, and traditional advertising principles.
  • Proficiency in marketing analytics tools and techniques for tracking and optimizing campaign performance.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Ability to work effectively with individuals across diverse cultures and backgrounds.
  • Commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration, or a related field, preferred; advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience with event marketing –including proficiency in Hubspot.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex ideas and strategies to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Experience in technology, financial services, or related industries is highly desirable.
  • Experience in (or interest in) strategic planning - this is a growth position, and we look forward to this candidate who will grow into participating in company planning and setting objectives for future years.



Pay Range: $115,000-$125,000 annually.



This is a Hybrid role, based in New York City.

  • An employee's pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors, including but not limited to, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, geographical location, performance, travel requirements, revenue-based metrics, any contractual agreements, and business or organizational needs. The range listed is one component of Magnet Media's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards may include 401k match program, Paid Time Off policy and other programs sponsored by the company.
