- Work with executive director of communications and public affairs to develop and implement a novel, comprehensive communications and engagement strategy for internal audiences at the College of Medicine, including for faculty, staff, students, and postdoctoral fellows
- Collaborate with executive director and communications team to create and execute creative and effective internal communications for institutional priorities, initiatives, and events.
- Use data to effectively inform and develop and monitor the internal communications strategy, campaigns, and plans
- Determine appropriate use of channels for communications, including College of Medicine intranet, newsletter(s), flatscreens, flyers and posters for different audiences
- Work with executive director to evaluate and use new technology and online systems for communications
- Develop automated processes that facilitate requests for internal promotion and support
- Edit all campuswide communications
- Produce written communications that inspire readers, tailoring tone and messages for different audience
- Write, assign, and/or edit a range of writer materials, from short items and letters to long-form stories; manage freelance writers
- Work with the executive dean to write, edit, and distribute dean’s messages
- Act as a critical member of the emergency communications team
- Advise and work with the offices of human resources, IT, security, engineering, student life and other areas of operations and administration to develop internal messages as needed
- Maintain positive working relationships with a variety of offices and departments on campus
- Perform other appropriate projects as assigned by the executive director of communications.
- Develops effective written and electronic communications and uses them appropriately
- Proactively engages internal leadership to determine needs
- Interacting regularly with the other 14 people who are part of the department, as well as the many individuals, both internal and external to Einstein, who interact with the executive director
- Work closely with director of creative services to develop internal promotions
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years of experience are required
Ability to think strategically and prioritize according to institutional and departmental mission and goals
Demonstrates a high level of professionalism, decision-making, and attention to detail
Ability to remain flexible with shifting priorities and deadlines
Strong knowledge of MS Office and comfort with online portals and systems
Speaks clearly and expresses self well in one-on-one conversations and in groups
Models a positive attitude
Minimum Salary Range
USD $112,500.00/Yr.
Maximum Salary Range
USD $125,000.00/Yr.
