The organization consists of 12 total staff members and 19 board members and is funded primarily through City and County hotel tax revenue providing us an annual budget currently at $3.9M.

Job Title: Marketing and Content Coordinator Reports to: Marketing Manager

Position Overview
The Marketing and Content Coordinator is responsible for supporting marketing and graphic design efforts for the organization. The position includes assisting the department by ensuring Tempe Tourism’s brand is strengthened both internally and externally, preparing activity reports, compiling research data, support website maintenance and provide support for partnership programs. The marketing and content coordinator will work with the Marketing Manager to ensure deadlines are met and content is readily available for marketing purposes. This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic & passionate designer or marketer to expand their knowledge within the destination marketing industry.
Job Responsibilities
Successful job applicants will be able to perform the following functions with minimal supervision:
Overview:
- Design and format marketing materials consistent with Tempe Tourism’s brand standards, ensuring consistency across all marketing communications
- Ensure that all marketing efforts serve immediate and long-term goals by identifying and executing improvements for processes, partnerships and content
- Prepare marketing activity reports and metrics for program success
- Compile market research, forecasts, travel analyses, campaign results, and tourism trends
- Support the development and maintenance of the website
- Build knowledge and education regularly through workshops, research, and seminars, and share best practices and local marketing tactics with team members
Marketing:
- The Marketing and Content Coordinator will provide support to the Marketing department, assisting with the execution of programs and new initiatives, as well as providing design support as needed
- Manage non-hotel partnership segment of the organization’s CRM to keep data updated
- Compile research on market trends, customer behavior, and competitor landscape, and prepare reports by summarizing data
- Monthly reconciliation of advertising insertion orders and invoices; compile monthly reporting from the website and newsletter analytics for performance including, but not limited to; Google Analytics 4, MyEmma, Monsido, and others
- Support the marketing manager in establishing and evaluating marketing strategy by assembling sales forecasts, setting objectives, organizing promotional presentations, and updating calendars
- Assist in the development and maintain up-to-date website content
- Source and maintain inventory of promotional items and marketing materials, ensuring all are current and accurate, and coordinate the creation of new materials when necessary, by establishing relationships with vendors
- Assist in conducting quarterly website and mobile audits for accuracy, performance and functionality to improve user experience
- Manage the distribution of the Visitor’s Guide through a 3rd party fulfillment house, 3rd party visitor kiosk vendor, and record inventory with print partner
- Inputting campaign objectives, timelines, and deliverables to team, and provide instructions via project management system
- Continually seek new sources of prospective customer data and provide recommendations to marketing leadership Assist in editing copy for the annual Tempe Visitor’s Guide
- Assist with updating the Tempe Tourism Office SkyNav Map platform
- Assist with Tempe Tourism events by managing distribution list, creating email invitations, and managing responses
Education/Experience/Skills
- Experience in marketing coordination or similar role
- Knowledge of traditional and digital marketing, content marketing, and social media marketing
- Graphic design experience with working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite programs (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator and Adobe XD)
- Experience using data analytics software for research Excellent communication and presentation skills
Work Environment

- Candidate must be flexible with fluid work situations, including working remotely if necessary
- Out of town travel is required Use of personal vehicle for normal course of business and hosting clients is required Work on weekends is required on an as needed basis during familiarization tours, photo and video shoots and some educational conferences and trade shows
Physical Demands
- This is largely a sedentary role. However, some lifting or moving of boxes (up to 20 pounds) and bending or standing on a stool might be required.

Compensation – Based Upon Experience
- Range: $56,000 - $58,000
