Compensation for this position is in the $49k to $55K range depending on qualifications and experience.
Summary: The Jr. Communication Coordinator supports the communication efforts in executing and monitoring communication strategies of the programs and services offered by the American Foreign Service Protective Association (AFSPA) and the Senior Living Foundation (SLF).
Duties and Responsibilities:
Duties & responsibilities of the Jr. Communication Coordinator include, but are not limited to the following:

Research industry offerings and develop content that accurately reflects the organization's vision. This includes writing internal/external communications such as blog posts, newsletter articles, news releases, social media content, etc. *
Provide graphic design support to create visual text and imagery concepts. Additionally, develop the overall layout and production design for print and digital materials. These include social media content, PowerPoint presentations, email campaigns, infographics, branding materials, etc. *
Support all digital media needs including managing and monitoring social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube), website content management, and audiovisual creation and production of short videos and podcast episodes. This includes assisting in content programming, coordination, production, and scheduling. *
Work with different analytic tools, including Google Analytics, to monitor, collect, analyze and summarize data. Manage invoices and ensure timely payments to vendors and compile appropriate mailing lists for various correspondence using Microsoft Power BI. *
Reading and routing correspondences, coordinating and supporting internal/external AFSPA meetings by preparing physical/virtual space and capturing detailed meeting notes. *

Qualifications:

Education/Experience:

A Bachelor's Degree in Public Relations or a related field.
1+ years experience in an office environment.
Intermediate knowledge of or experience in graphic design specifications, advertising scheduling, and webinar development.
Intermediate level of experience in Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Zoom, Microsoft Teams, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft PowerPoint, and Microsoft Outlook.
Experience in email marketing.
Above-average oral and written communication skills.
Excellent interpersonal skills.
Excellent organizational skills.

Work Location:
The following are work locations that AFSPA utilizes: New Carrollton, Maryland Satellite Office; Washington, DC Headquarters; and remote. Work location will be assigned and/or changed based on business needs and at Management's sole discretion.
