Job Description The Sr. Communications Strategist is responsible for the support of executive leadership, within the Resource Management and Transformation (RMT) Division of the Office of the Chief Financial Officer, having in depth customer knowledge, providing strategic support, leading teams that are developing solutions on behalf of Department of Homeland Security (DHS) clients, as well as managing the expectations and relationships of business stakeholders.

Support all aspects of executive level communications (oral and written). Target audiences include other government executives, organizational team members, external individuals.
Track high-level objectives for the different organizations (divisions).
Comfortable in writing/submitting articles to newsletter and publications about the teams analytics, project, and data successes.
Assist management and team members in developing (writing) presentations and documents.
Assist organizations leadership in responding to writing requests/communications.
Experience in developing (and documenting) organizational operating/implementation plans that identify quarterly and yearly project deliverable objectives.
Support the development of articles to be included in the organization’s monthly newsletter.
Must have strong communication skills and ability and desire to lead. Must work effectively in team-based organization with fluid functions and demanding users.
Create/edit presentation in PowerPoint (Examples: CFO Council presentations, CFO Symposium and Offsite Meetings, RMT Roadshows and Division Meetings etc.)
Create/edit articles and reports in Microsoft Word (Examples RMT Monthly/Weekly Report, journal articles, whitepapers, SOPs, OCFO Strategic and Operational Plans etc.)
Create/edit slick sheets, flyers and one-pagers in Publisher
Create/edit reports in Excel and other tools
RMT projects, accomplishments, operational plan measures and updates, award nominations, data call requests etc.
Support report generation using OCFO Operational Tracker and RMT Flight Deck (Apex applications) and Tableau

Required Education, Experience, & Skills

Must have experience with preparing communications products for leaders
Must have experience with PowerPoint
Must have a Bachelor's degree
Must be able to obtain a Public Trust clearance
Must have experience preparing client reports

Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills

Experience as contractor with the Federal government
Experience in data analytics and/or development of applications.
Experience working all facets of requirements gathering, identification and analysis (business requirements, data requirements, and functional requirements).
Knowledge of data modeling and experience in developing high-level (or conceptual) data models as a means of documenting data requirements is preferred.
Master's degree or MBA preferred

Pay Information

Full-Time Salary Range: $78760 - $133870

Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
