Work Environment: 24 hours per week with 2-3 days in person at BlackHouse Office (some weeks you will have one remote work day, and occasionally will be on-site working at events. (You will know in advance when required to attend events)

We are seeking a highly motivated Marketing Intern to join the team in our NYC office. You will contribute to BlackHouse’s marketing campaigns which will include social media, website, event industry sites, and email marketing to targeted industries. You will also assist with capturing content for campaigns onsite at events. Candidates must be creative, able to produce compelling content, and be detail oriented to manage time well as we work in a fast paced environment.

WHAT IS IN IT FOR YOU?

Gain skills and tactics used in multi-channel marketing programs, and the ability to identify target markets & develop marketing strategies

ROLE & RESPONSIBILITY

Join and contribute at sales meetings and marketing meetings.
Conduct research on competitors and market trends to help the team hone overall marketing strategy. Create a competitive analysis of our top competitors and provide recommendations for the future strategy. Continually track competitors’ marketing initiatives and provide valuable intelligence
Support the marketing team in planning and execution related to various marketing initiatives and projects
Support manager in coordinating logistics for campaign promotional content
Help manage promotional calendar for campaigns
Keep track of all press hits in the tracker
Assist with various ongoing projects as necessary and other activities assigned by your manager
Update marketing materials and create new marketing collateral with high impact imagery and research.
Create social media template designs
Migrate the company’s photo archives from Google Docs to Google photos and build albums to support content creation for various marketing initiatives
Assist with content capture for event productions, contributing to shot planning, as well as being on-site during photoshoot capturing behind-the-scenes content.
Contribute to team brainstorms, bringing ideas and inspiration for all social media platforms. Brainstorms will focus on scroll-stopping creative content ideas specifically tailored to Instagram and LinkedIN
Generate, schedule, edit, publish, and share content that builds meaningful connections and encourages the audience to act
Identify more effective social media content for our target audience
Stay up to date on the latest Instagram and LinkedIN trends to continuously enhance our marketing approach and increase engagement and impressions
Maintain knowledge of the latest emerging platform trends, and propose ideas on how we can show up on these platforms
Support Social Media planning, community management and analysis
Update website pages, ensuring accurate information is displayed. Ensure they have proper copy, images, specifications, and resource files
Contribute to the creation of case studies and recap videos of BlackHouse’s events.
Contribute to collateral created for the submission of award programs for BlackHouse events.
Update departmental documents and templates with BlackHouse branding
Collaborate on newsletter strategy, and help to optimize email content and cadence
to improve open rates, click through rate, etc.

Qualifications

Must be 18+ years old, pursuing a career in marketing/communications/PR, and interested in the event industry
Proficient with Excel, Powerpoint, Word, Google Docs & Google Sheets
Able to perform market research and present your findings clearly.
Must be passionate about experiential marketing, PR, social media, and content creation
Experience with Instagram and LinkedIn required.
Familiarity with competitive research & analysis
Must have access to a laptop to work remotely
Experienced in photo editing and graphic design strongly preferred
Experience with Hootsuite or similar social media management tools is a big plus
Video editing experience is a huge bonus
