This newly created position will help develop and refine both Blain’s Farm & Fleet’s public-facing and internal brand voice. The Communication’s Manager will ensure the company’s messages are consistent and engaging by overseeing all internal and external communications. With one of our brand equities rooted in “community”, events and charitable giving also play an important part of this role. As such, this person may be required at times to work evenings or weekends representing Blain’s on-site at events.

Required Skills

5+ years prior experience working in a PR or Marketing Communications role.
Deep writing background with excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong prioritization and organizational skills with a meticulous attention to detail.
A track record of working under pressure to meet firm deadlines, including managing multiple projects with different deadlines.
Familiarity working with legal, insurance, outside PR, and/or company leadership in critical situations in a cool-under-fire manner.
Experience working within or managing an outside PR agency.
Ability to think both analytically and strategically.
Capable of working as part of a team as well as independently.
A history of working well across departments and at all levels (ability to manage up, across and down).
Familiarity or experience working with CRM software is an asset.
Media-capable: possesses experience and willingness to be a spokesperson.

Responsibilities

External Communication, including:

Generate and track earned media; produce and distribute activity reports.
Charitable giving/contributions and related communications/PR.
Events and correlating communications/PR.
Media kit creation and distribution for major events and key time periods.
Development and maintenance of relationships with publications, media outlets, etc.
Spokesperson as brand subject matter expert at events, TV/radio stations, etc.

Internal Communication Including

Assistance with communications on company policies.
Speech writing for senior leaders.
Development of a recruiting brand strategy.
Development of an internal charitable giving strategy.
Writing, production, and distribution oversight of company newsletter.
Other:
Outside PR agency and PR/Events Coordinator management.
Experiential marketing.
Budget management.
