Position: Executive Director (Independent Contractor)

Location: Atlanta, Georgia

Direct Report: BABC GA President

Hours: 20 hours per week on average

Benefits: None (As a not-for-profit volunteer-led organization, the BABC-GA has no employees)

About You: Are you a visionary person passionate about transatlantic connections? BABC-GA is seeking an Executive Director to shape our future. As the Executive Director, you’ll be personally working on a multitude of strategic initiatives, manage events, and driving membership growth within a thriving community of visionaries.

Key Responsibilities:

I. Membership Development

You will engage with members whose memberships are expiring or have expired, encouraging them to renew their membership. Additionally, you will develop and execute strategies to attract new members. Increasing event attendance by connecting with both members and non-member contacts is a key focus. You will support the Events Chair in organizing signature events such as the Garden Party, Holiday Reception, Christmas Lunch, and other events (Golf/Gala event) as determined by the Board.

II. Communication

You will manage the production of a quarterly newsletter and send one-off communications to the entire database, membership, or specific groups as directed by the volunteer Board. Handling executive emails, forwarding them to the appropriate board member or committee chair, and responding to messages left on the BABC voicemail are also part of your duties. When new corporate members join, you will connect with them to obtain logos for the website and social media blurbs, and refresh profiles of existing corporate members. You will serve as the voice of BABC-GA to the BABN, staying engaged with their activities and reporting relevant information to the Board. Additionally, you will communicate with other international chambers in Atlanta to coordinate multi-chamber events.

III. Social Media

Your responsibilities include creating and scheduling engaging content, actively engaging with the audience, and publicly welcoming new members on social media platforms.

IV. Website Management

You will create event landing pages, including graphics, descriptions, specifics, pricing, waitlists, and notification emails. Managing guest lists and providing updates to the Board is also essential. Maintaining the membership database and contact lists, updating the website with news and BAB Network events, and ensuring the footer features new corporate member logos are part of your role. You will also update the website with new committee chairs, officers, and their contact information, and revise system email templates as needed.

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have relevant experience, strong communication and organizational skills, and experience in membership development, event management, and working with volunteers to create memorable events and environments for transatlantic business to thrive. Proficiency in social media and website management is essential, along with the ability to engage with diverse business communities.
