My Community Dental Centers is a 501c3 nonprofit with a mission to enhance community health by offering access to quality dental care for all.

MCDC serves nearly 90,000 patients at 34 dental centers throughout Michigan annually. Along with accepting most private insurance, we offer a full range of services to enrollees in Medicaid, Healthy Kids Dental and Healthy Michigan Plan as well as uninsured patients.

Through our internship program, we are looking for talented young professionals passionate about creating awareness and improving oral health in communities throughout Michigan.

Interns will work directly under the supervision of the Marketing Manager and Chief of Community and Governmental Affairs. The Marketing Intern will assist with digital, promotional, and community engagement projects. The Intern will also help support local communication initiatives, website and social media content, and assist in the creation of organizational materials.

The internship is eligible for extension, semester by semester

Responsibilities

Assist with development of creative concepts and marketing strategies for promoting the work of the organization
Support the development of content for promotional materials including electronic newsletters, website, social media and blog
Assist with the identification and monitoring of effective benchmarks for measuring the impact of digital programs, analyzing and reporting on MCDC’s analytics and campaign results
Manage photo and video content
Assist with organizational communications needs including the development of newsletter content and press releases
Support other duties as assigned

Skills Required

Possess skills at initiating innovative ideas and judging correctly what will appeal to target audiences
Exceptional writing ability and experience with writing stories
Ability to collect and synthesize information from diverse sources
Must be creative & resourceful
Must be able to multi-task
Experience using social media: Twitter, Facebook and Instagram
Skills with Powerpoint, Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator and Canva are extremely useful but not necessary
Experience with WordPress is also a plus
