Who we are

Created by parents and for parents, Cradlewise is a baby technology company founded in 2018 by engineers Radhika and Bharath Patil. They design nursery products that are smart, intuitive, and delightful. Cradlewise won the Bump’s Best of Baby Unique Standout Award in 2022 and TIME’s Best Inventions Award in 2020 for their first product, a convertible smart crib that automatically bounces baby back to sleep, just like you would as a parent.

Cradlewise is the only crib that senses stirring and soothes babies back to sleep before they start crying. It helps babies fall asleep faster and stay asleep longer. In turn, Cradlewise maximizes the entire family's rest.

About the role

Cradlewise is looking for a part-time Editor to join our creative team!

The ideal candidate is passionate about planning and producing informative, relatable, and meaningful stories that parents will reference time and time again. We’re searching for a skilled line editor who can juggle multiple topics and deadlines, partnering with staff and freelance writers to ensure content is on-brand and science-backed. The ideal candidate understands the parenting world inside and out, and is empathetic to new parents’ content needs.

The role will balance editorial creativity with the ability to lean into data-driven SEO insights to grow Cradlewise’s organic website traffic and position the brand as a thought leader in the baby care and maternal wellness space.

This role will report to the VP of Content + Community and work closely with several departments including Content, Growth, and Design.

What you will do

Edit copy for accuracy, voice, readability, and organization, ensuring it adheres to Cradlewise’s style guidelines and supports traffic, growth, and revenue efforts.
Collaborate with the editorial and marketing teams to edit copy across a variety of formats, including blogs, website, app, newsletter, SMS, and more.
Provide coaching and feedback to staff writers and freelance writers.
Collaborate with the VP of Content + Community and other cross-functional leads to ensure high-quality content that’s produced on deadline.
Maintain SEO best practices to ensure recent content retains a competitive edge and fulfills parents’ needs.
Contribute to other editorial projects as needed.

What will set you up for success

A minimum of 5 years of professional editing experience with a digital publication or brand
Bachelor’s degree in Communication Studies, Journalism, Writing, or English is required
A strong understanding of Cradlewise’s brand voice and ability to communicate its message with consistency
A strong understanding of AP Style
Experience with content management systems like WordPress
Ability to generate original ideas for creative and engaging content
Excellent organizational, planning, and collaboration skills
Previous experience with parenting brands or being a parent yourself is a huge plus!
Ability to showcase scientific information in terms that are accessible, relatable, and meaningful
