Description:

The Communications Specialist plays a critical role in enhancing the agency’s visibility, spreading awareness about the mission, and engaging target audiences through various communication channels. You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and executing a variety of strategic communication plans to effectively spread awareness about the mission, engage target audiences through social media and newsletters, and promote the agency to external audiences through visually appealing presentations. As a key member of the agency, you will create innovative approaches to highlight the agency’s service area population, ultimately leading to the achievement of operational targets in line with the agency’s Strategic Plan.

Responsibilities:

Serve as the primary point of contact for all communication and marketing inquiries within the agency. Collaborate with the CEO, Program Directors, and graphic designer to gather information for content creation and develop strategies to raise awareness about programs, fundraisers, or initiatives.
Manage and create engaging visual and written content for agency’s website, newsletter, and social media platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. Ensure all communication materials demonstrate cultural sensitivity, inclusivity, and respect for diverse perspectives.
Help produce and write copy for a variety of promotional materials, including flyers, brochures, posters, grant applications. Design visually appealing and informative PowerPoint presentations and create fillable PDF forms, as requested.
Maintain the agency’s branding guidelines and ensure all promotional materials and media messaging consistently adheres to the branding guide to meet quality standards. Maintain branding and image library with agency and stock photos for media use.
Serve as liaison to website/social management agency. Monitor, analyze, and report communication metrics to measure the effectiveness of posts and campaigns.
Coordinate the preparation and production of the agency’s annual report, highlighting achievements, impact, and financial performance over the last fiscal year. Develop the design and layout of information for the annual report in collaboration with the CEO, Program Directors, and graphic designer.
Provide support to the Board of Directors, as needed, including preparing materials, coordinating communications, and drafting board meeting minutes.
Provide front desk coverage for the receptionist during lunch breaks and time off.

Requirements:

Previous experience in a similar role or a related field. Experience with graphic design, photography, video editing, or other multimedia content creation is a plus.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365, Adobe Acrobat Pro, and Constant Contact.
Strong organizational, multitasking skills, attention to detail and adapts well to change.
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills to engage with the team and ability to thrive in a collaborative environment, fostering a positive and supportive atmosphere.
A proactive and outgoing personality with a passion for helping others and finding innovative solutions to challenges.
Maintain confidentiality of sensitive information.
