Delegata is searching for a Communications Specialist must be an expert communicator who can listen to others and write very well to communicate a position on various topics to include:

Ability to do investigative research and analysis in a large project environment to determine facts with significant levels of detail.
Ability to write in multiple styles to represent various stakeholder positions including the CEO, the Project Manager, and other senior individuals.
Develop effective communications strategies for client projects.
Foster relationships with key persons at client organization.
Incorporate political dynamics into executive-level progress reports.
Anticipate the implications of written statements to executives and teams from diverse backgrounds and refine messages to communicate effectively to them.
Mitigate potential negative reactions through proactive communications efforts.
Work with the Project Manager and Project Team(s) to facilitate project communications needs.
Work with key internal and client role-players to brainstorm content ideas, in line with the project’s strategy and in support of various project initiatives.
Produce copy and content for project communciations needs.
Define and execute communications processes and procedures to acceptable project standards through development and performance on strategies and plans. Work well across many dimensions including:

Media/Channels

Frequency

Tools

Lead the development of the project communication mechanisms including the project communications plan.
Ability to meet project and publication deadlines including managing specific project communcations tasks and supporting communications for other project tasks as needed.
Develop and manage communications materials across multiple media including: PowerPoint presentations, newsletter articles, website content, issue memos, status reports, project marketing campaigns, styleguides, project brand/look and feel, surveys, meeting agendas and minutes, press releases, brochures, events, videos etc.
Document methods in processes and procedures to help the project office become more consistent in application of communication performance areas.
Lead the development and execution of project marketing campaigns to achieve project communication goals and objectives.
Organize initiatives and plan events.
Assist in communication of strategies and messages from senior leadership.
Ability to set and achieve project communication goals and objectives.

Mandatory Qualifications:

8+ years of professional experience in business and/or information technology
6+ years of experience performing hands-on communications management for large technology implementation projects or organizational change initiatives.
4+ years of experience developing and executing formal Communications Plans and communication strategies.
Experience developing and leading communications campaigns for identified audiences (enterprise wide, content owners, external partners/stakeholders).
Experience in copywriting and editing for wide variety of communication platforms and channels.
Experience with Microsoft suite.
Solid understanding of project management principles.
Solid understanding of marketing principles and organization change management principles.
Must have excellent communication (written and oral) skills, organization and planning skills, presentation skills, and work well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Strategic and creative mindset.
Meticulous attention to detail.

Desired Qualifications:

Experience working within a formal Project Office, PMO, or equivalent environment.
Experience and skills in graphic and visual design, as well as creative direction.
4+ years of experience using formal communications management tools (e.g., websites, online newsletters, multi-media presentations, multiple communication vehicles, formal communications centers, webinars, etc.).
2+ years of experience in creating communications materials for California State government entities.

Job Type: Full-time

Salary: $110,000.00 - $135,000.00 per year
