City Cast Las Vegas is hiring a Newsletter Editor to be the signature voice of its useful, joyful, and informative daily local newsletter, Hey Las Vegas, publishing alongside a daily podcast. In this role, you will avidly follow local news and culture, then write and curate stories, headlines, and other tidbits into an irresistible and substantive M-F email.

Key Responsibilities

Consume a variety of sources for local news, culture, and civic engagement daily and identify the compelling pieces to be shared with local readers. Demonstrate an eye for the unexpected, surprising, and delightful.
Identify, curate, and write up compelling aggregated and original local stories and news updates. Demonstrate excellent discretion for what local readers need to know, and what should be left out.
Imagine, research, and create useful guides, explainers, and deeps dives on topics to engage a local audience.
Compose compelling subject line and article headlines, format the day's newsletter to adhere to City Cast's style guide and branding, and ensure the newsletter and related articles are published at a regular time, error-free.
Gather visual content for a daily newsletter and corresponding web articles, ensuring that appropriate licensing guidelines are followed, and that images are high quality and editorially compelling.
Gather and share a robust range of events and ways to engage in the city with your audience via the newsletter and website.
Execute email engagement and content strategies as defined by the Director of Newsletter Strategy, the Content Directors, and other City Cast HQ partners.
Engage with newsletter readers by responding to their emails and outreach on social media.
Monitor email metrics, in coordination with the Director of Newsletter Strategy, and make necessary adjustments to work for continued audience growth and success.
Coordinate with your podcast team to identify ways for crossover content, cross promotion, and smarter workloads.
Maintain a highly organized workspace within Slack, Dropbox, Airtable, Sanity, and Sailthru.

Summary

This role of Project Manager is responsible for delivering engineering projects in the planning, design, and construction of new or trenchless rehabilitation of existing potable water, wastewater, and reclaimed water infrastructure. Expectations are pursuing and winning work and managing project teams involved in delivering professionally sealed construction documents, including overseeing and controlling project performance, providing direction and guidance to engineers and technicians on project team, confirm quality control on project document deliverables, along with developing and maintaining strong client relationships. This position is a management role with growth potential in a dynamic, successful engineering company.

Accountabilities

Maintain existing and build new client relationships.
Participate in the pursuit and winning of new business.
Prepare, negotiate, and manage scopes of work, schedules, and budgets.
Actively participate in mentoring and career development of staff.
Prepare project invoices and follow up with clients to ensure timely receipt of payment.
Represent the Firm at industry events and professional conferences.
Provide leadership and management of project teams.
Oversee and professionally seal project design drawings, technical specifications, and opinions of probable construction costs.
Consistently meet project deadlines while maintaining a high level of quality.

Education, Experience And Qualifications

B.S. degree in Civil Engineering is required.
Preferred 7-10 years of experience related to design and construction oversight of new and existing utility infrastructure projects.
Professional Engineering license for the State of Arizona
Current GIS planning, scheduling, and design software preferred with proficiency in Microsoft Office a necessity.
Certification by the National Association of Sewer Services Companies (NASSCO) in PACP and MACP a is optional.
Strong people skills; promote a positive teamwork environment.
Strong leadership skills; ability to successfully lead a motivated team in a fast-paced environment.
Strong project management skills and self-directed.
Must be an effective communicator.
