Ecogy is on a mission to develop renewable energy solutions that are distributed, de-carbonized, digitized, and democratized. Ecogy was founded as a developer, financier, and owner-operator of distributed generation resources in 2010 with our first project for Longwood Gardens, the nation's largest botanical garden. Since then, we have found our niche specializing in financing distributed generation assets for traditionally underserved entities including affordable housing, non-profits, and municipalities. Our current portfolio comprises 9 states, D.C., and the Caribbean and consist of mainly large rooftop and solar canopy projects.

We are looking for a Communications & Marketing Intern to join our team. The incoming Intern will aid and assist in the development and execution of Ecogy’s communication and marketing strategy. You will work alongside Ecogy’s marketing, business development, and policy team to create content (posters, website updates, press releases, etc.) that effectively communicate both Ecogy’s story and its place in the broader clean energy landscape. The ideal candidate is an excellent writer and storyteller with a passion for the clean energy space.

The Communications & Marketing Intern will report to our Marketing Analyst. This is a full-time opportunity, ideally based out of our Headquarters in Brooklyn, starting in August and running through December 2023, with potential to extend.

Compensation: $17 per hour

Responsibilities:

Generate marketing content, including social media posts, blog articles, etc.
Aid in the design and maintenance of the Ecogy website
Assist in planning and running marketing events, such as ribbon cutting ceremonies
Collaboratively create external marketing materials, including one-pagers, presentations, and press releases
Contribute to conversations surrounding marketing strategy as it relates to the overall direction of the company
Support internal communications, including a monthly newsletter

Qualifications:

Passion and enthusiasm for renewable energy
Excellent command of the English language, both written and spoken
Proactive, with a keen attention to detail and superb organizational skills
Strong writing or editing experience
Knowledge and enthusiasm for graphic design, skills with Canva or Illustrator are a plus
Strong command of the Microsoft Office suite
Currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in business administration, marketing, sales, communications, or a related field
