About The Role

As an Email Marketing Specialist at Going, you will have a significant impact on the experience of our 2M+ subscribers across multiple email products, driving engagement and retention. Using a customer-centric and data-driven approach, you will be creating and optimizing email newsletters that inform, educate, and inspire members to explore the world. Working in Litmus and Braze, you will have the tools necessary to deliver key communications to members.

This role is much more than just coding and sending emails. As an Email Marketing Specialist, you will combine compelling messaging and visually engaging storytelling to highlight new travel destinations, experiences, and possibilities. You will play a vital role in enlightening members and encouraging them to explore the world. We're seeking a talented and creative individual to join our team and help us realize our vision for a more engaging and inspiring member experience.

In the short term, you will

Familiarize yourself with Going products, business objectives, marketing goals, and target audience to gain a deeper understanding of the brand
Develop familiarity email marketing tools, platforms, and workflows used at Going, allowing you to contribute to the team's efforts more effectively
Collaborate with the Design and Content teams to ensure all communications align with brand guidelines
Familiarize yourself with our member segmentation, custom events, and attributes in Braze, enabling you to target specific groups of members with tailored communications
Collaborate with the Brand Marketing team and Ad Sales department to integrate content, design, and advertising assets into weekly newsletters, ensuring all elements work together seamlessly
Communicate directly with external ad partners to obtain advertising assets and deliver reporting
Build, test, send, and optimize newsletter campaigns in Braze to drive member engagement based on performance data and business goals, demonstrating your ability to work independently and take ownership of projects
Contribute to the launch of exciting new Going newsletters that deliver additional member value, showcasing your creativity and enthusiasm for the brand

In the long term, you will

Gain insight into our long-term newsletter strategy and contribute to identifying areas for improvement and streamlining campaign processes
Collaborate closely with the Lifecycle Marketing Manager to execute communications and explore new opportunities for A/B experimentation and personalization
Develop coding skills and expertise, with a strong drive to master basic liquid logic
Take ownership of campaign building and launch processes for up to five weekly newsletters, working closely with internal teams and external partners
Provide support for advertiser reporting at the campaign level
Review and analyze email lists, segmentation, and hygiene, proposing improvements and optimizations to enhance engagement
Participate in A/B testing for newsletters, with the ability to translate results into actionable business insights

What you know

Required:

Highly motivated and capable of managing multiple projects, while delivering high-quality work under tight deadlines
Proficient in using Braze for email marketing with a solid foundation in HTML/CSS coding
Detail-oriented, hyper-organized, and process-driven
Takes ownership of work and demonstrates self-motivation and effective communication with cross-functional teams
Collaborates effectively with diverse teams of creative and technical professionals, including creative directors, designers, animators, copywriters, project managers and ad partners
Receives constructive criticism professionally, remains flexible, and elevates member communications by making requested changes
Empathetic towards customers and has the ability to understand their perspective to deliver meaningful marketing communications
Excited about working in a startup environment that demands continuous innovation and offers a variety of projects
Legally authorized to work in the United States and able to work US-hours

Preferred:

Experience with list management and segmentation, including maintaining email lists, segmenting based on customer behavior, demographics, and preferences, and creating targeted campaigns
Experienced in analyzing email campaign metrics, such as open rates, click-through rates, and conversion rates, and utilizing this data to optimize future campaigns
Familiarity with Litmus is a plus

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is used for email asset storage
Slack is where we live day-to-day and collaborate cross-functionally
Notion is used for documentation, collaboration and project management
Monday is our workflow, project request, and scheduling tool
