Marketing & Development Manager

position.

The Marketing & Development Manager will be responsible for telling stories about the impact of giving, writing case statements and proposals, creating marketing collateral, and drafting narrative pieces for the agency newsletter, press releases, and other communication with Interface’s donors and prospective donors. As a part of that work, this position will help advance philanthropic needs arising from Interface’s strategic planning process that will be completed in July 2022 and frame the next five years for our organization. In addition, this position will have a key role in the creation andimplementation of communications and outreach related to Interface’s 50 th

anniversary to be celebrated throughout 2023.

This position reports to and works as a thought partner with the Director of Development within the Fund Development & Marketing Team. As a member of the team, the Marketing & Development Manager will be part of a skilled and creative group of professionals who work collaboratively to advance Interface’s mission through philanthropy.

This position requires the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, and to serve as the lead on projects that involve colleagues from multiple departments and require input from various internal stakeholders.

The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker and superb writer who is committed to creating a culture of inclusivity, ensuring the use of inclusive language that promotes equity. Excellent interpersonal and project management skills required. Experience writing for nonprofits is strongly preferred.

Job Purpose

Marketing & Development Manager is responsible for writing and editing fundraising collateral, telling stories about the impact of giving, and creating digital and print collateral that inspire philanthropic support and express gratitude to Interface’s donors.

Your responsibilities will include:*

Understanding Interface’s fundraising priorities, including articulating how these goals advance

the mission and conveying the impact of philanthropy to a variety of audiences.

Working collaboratively with various individuals and teams within the organization to develop targeted communications products.

Overseeing all social media accounts and marketing collateral produced through agency programs and making salient recommendations on communications strategies.

Lead and coordinate monthly Communication, Outreach, and Marketing (COM) Meeting with representatives from each program to align agency marketing efforts and provide training and support to individuals with communication responsibilities in their roles.

Researching, writing, and editing content, including gift stories, proposals, press releases, marketing collateral, and stewardship Coordinating reviews by internal and external partners and incorporating feedback.

Reflecting the diversity of thoughts, experiences, and approaches for Interface in development communications, conveying the agency’s aspirations as an inclusive, accessible, diverse, and equitable organization.

Managing production of an integrated marketing and communications plan, including leading communications projects and publications, managing the agency’s editorial calendar, tracking schedules and budgets, and adhering to deadlines.

Managing the implementation of the strategic plan marketing and branding strategy for the agency

Designing and editing of all digital and print materials, including the production of the agency e- newsletter and all marketing collateral.

Maintaining agency website and ensuring branding and information remains up to date across all digital platforms.

Leading project meetings and participating in regular organization-wide and team

Recruitment, training, and supervision of a social media marketing

Maintaining responsive and supportive communications and pleasant working relationships with team members, other staff members, volunteers, donors, vendors, government and foundation representatives and others to nurture a positive connection to the organization and the

Remaining current on marketing and social media trends and best practices through webinars and professional development opportunities.

Prior experience in planning and managing complex marketing/communications programs, coordinating the roles of multiple project contributors, setting priorities and schedules, and meeting deadlines with a minimum of supervision.

Prior experience planning and implementing integrated marketing and communication plans for digital and other forms of marketing.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and graphic design Experience with Word Press and Constant Contact or related systems a plus.

QUALIFICATIONS*:

Bachelor’s degree or graduate degree, plus four or more years of related experience

Successful background and criminal clearance required and maintained, including but not limited to California Department of Justice (DOJ), Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI, Child Abuse Index and Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV). Proof of a valid California Drivers License, reliable transportation, proof of automobile insurance (listed as covered), pass and maintain driving approval as required by our insurer.Bilingual and/or multilingual a plus
