About The National Park Foundation

The National Park Foundation (NPF), in partnership with the National Park Service, generates private support and builds strategic partnerships to protect and enrich America’s national parks for present and future generations.

In 1872, America did something unprecedented—it set aside more than one million acres of wilderness for the benefit and enjoyment of all people. For more than 150 years, private philanthropy and citizen support have played a vital role in preserving, protecting, and enhancing our national parks. Established by Congress in 1967, the National Park Foundation carries forward this legacy as the official nonprofit partner of the National Park Service.

Today, NPF is a growing organization with a national impact, working to ensure that parks remain vibrant, accessible, and inspiring for generations to come. Learn more at www.nationalparks.org .
