This position will support a variety of efforts, including invigorating recruitment efforts, implementing diversity and inclusion initiatives, and collaborating on the development and delivery of staff engagement, leadership, and employee development programming.

Responsibilities

Working with the Human Resources team to help expand the scope of our traditional recruitment approaches and implement new strategies to market open positions, including expanded usage of job boards and social media
Networking with institutions of higher education, student and professional affinity groups, and attending recruitment fairs and recruitment networking events
Assisting in analysis of employee surveys, including DOB’s annual climate/engagement and exit surveys, for key indicators and trends
Participating in the implementation of Diversity and Inclusion (D & I) initiatives, such as helping launch a new D & I staff committee and providing recommendations on D & I best practices throughout the hiring process
Collaborating with the Training & Staff Development team on staff engagement initiatives such as reinvigorating an employee newsletter and helping increase engagement with the Technology Community of Practice
Contributing recommendations to ensure that current course curriculum reflects best practices in D & I, propose and assist in developing additional courses, and co-facilitate delivery of courses including annual Equal Employment Opportunity and Workplace Discrimination Prevention and Unconscious Bias and Allyship in the Workplace
Communicating with staff across the Division and participate in inter-agency meetings and training

Qualifications

The incumbent should have exceptional communication skills (spoken and written) and an interest in generating new ideas within a collaborative environment. Experience in recruitment, human resources, college admissions, facilitating diversity and inclusion initiatives, and/or marketing are preferred. Essential skills in Microsoft Word and Excel are required.
