EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma or equivalent; additional business/computer courses preferred.
Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college in Human Resources, Business Administration, Organizational Development, or a related field is preferred

EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:

Minimum of two years of hands-on human resources experience, particularly in leave administration, Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), Short-Term and Long-Term Disability, retirement programs, benefits administration, and worker’s compensation
Knowledge of HR employment law, policies, practices, and benefit plans
Proficient in using HRIS/payroll systems
Strong skills in Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
Experience in non-profit organization, or working with US government service contracts, or experience collaborating with individuals with disabilities is preferred

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

Valid driver's license and good driving record, with necessary insurance coverage if operating an agency vehicle
Must pass a background check per company requirements
Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to interact professionally with employees at all levels and maintain confidentiality.
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and data accuracy.
Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently with general supervision

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES SUMMARY:

Responsible for the day-to-day administration of benefits and retirement programs, including 401(k), medical, dental, vision, life insurance, worker’s compensation, and leave administration (FMLA, Short-Term and Long-Term Disability). Accountable for the monthly OSHA 300 report and MVRs (Motor Vehicle Reports). Educate employees on benefits, resolve inquiries, and assist with open enrollment. Contribute to social media and monthly newsletter content.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Assist employees with the enrollment process for benefits programs, including health insurance and retirement plans
Prepare and distribute communication materials regarding benefits updates and enrollment deadlines
Maintain accurate records of employee benefit elections in HRIS
Serve as a point of contact for employee benefits inquiries, providing timely and accurate assistance
Ensure compliance with applicable regulations and assist with audits
Organize educational sessions to help employees understand their benefits
Provide general administrative support to the HR Team.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES RELATED TO THIS POSITION MAY INCLUDE ANY OF THE FOLLOWING:

Travel availability as required

Ability to converse, use telephone, and access emergency information systems
