The DONUT is a small startup based in Austin, Texas, that provides fast, impartial news that's enjoyable to read through our email newsletter and SMS format. We operate as a remote team but also offer in-person team bonding events for those based in Austin.

Job Summary:

The Copywriting Intern will work closely with our team to assist in writing engaging copy for our newsletter and/or sponsorship pieces. Additionally, they will collaborate on other copy needs as required. This role presents an excellent opportunity for hands-on experience in copywriting within the context of a fast-paced startup environment. This opportunity is an unpaid internship with the opportunity to grow into a paid role and/or receive performance-based compensation.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist in writing compelling copy for our newsletter and/or sponsorship pieces.
Collaborate with the team on various copy needs, including website content, marketing materials, and more.
Help maintain a consistent brand voice and style across different platforms.
Brainstorm creative ideas and concepts for copy.

Qualifications and Requirements:

Proficiency in written English with excellent grammar and spelling.
A sense of humor is a bonus, as we value creating enjoyable and engaging content.
Able to commit to 10-15 hours of work per week during the internship

Reporting Structure:

The Copywriting Intern will report to a copywriter on staff, who will provide guidance and feedback on writing assignments.

Location and Schedule:

This position is remote. However, for those based in Austin, Texas, there may be opportunities for in-person team bonding events.
