Description

Reporting to the Director of Operations, with frequent interaction with the Firm's Partners, the Director of Marketing is responsible for directing marketing strategies that help advance the Firm's strategic plan, grow revenue, retain clients, and build and protect the Firm’s brand and reputation. This position is based in our West Hartford office with a hybrid work schedule: 3 days in office, 2 days work from home.

Responsibilities

Work closely with Firm leadership to develop and direct a comprehensive marketing and business development plan that is aligned with the Firm's strategic goals and advances the business development plans of the Firm's Partners.
Monitor and analyze market and competitor activity and provide recommendations for the best course of action for the Firm.
Advise Firm leadership on the value and effectiveness of the following marketing functions and oversee implementation:

o Presentations and speaking opportunities

o Content development (brochure, newsletter, social media posts and other publication development)

o Marketing and loyalty events, including seminars, sponsorships, and client experiences

o Digital marketing (email marketing, website management, client communication strategies)

o Public relations (media relations and publicity)

Advise Firm leadership Advisors on strategy for competitive new business opportunities and oversee the process and infrastructure for pitches and RFPs, including the effective collection and management of knowledge and experience regarding clients, prospects, referrals and presentations.
Develop and implement a client feedback program. Monitor client satisfaction. Collect and evaluate feedback from clients as well as overall business and wealth management industry intelligence to help formulate overall strategy and tactics.
Develop a client loyalty strategy and touch plan to ensure a best-in-class experience.
Manage and direct the Firm’s business development and marketing budget in accordance with the Firm's marketing and business development plan. Establish strategies to achieve our growth goals as a firm and institutionalize a system to attract target market clients.
Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of the Marketing function with intention for future supervisory responsibilities. Supervisory responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training and mentoring employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance and developing professional growth goals; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in marketing or related field or equivalent experience
5 years of business development and marketing experience
Must possess strong interpersonal skills and excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong leadership experience in building and motivating a collaborative team and building relationships with groups and individuals at all levels
Experience in developing and writing business development materials, preparing and delivering professional presentations
Ability to supervise and train employees
Ability to make administrative and procedural decisions and provide sound judgment
Excellent project management skills and attention to detail
Strong interpersonal skills
