POSITION SUMMARY

Responsible for developing an annual company marketing plan and operating budget which includes trade and direct-to-consumer related marketing programs, national accounts, and preferred partner programs

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND JOB CONTEXT:

Conduct market research to determine market requirements for existing and future products, analysis of customer research, current market conditions, and competitor information.
Develop an annual marketing plan and budget. Once approved by senior management, execute the plan, remain within budget, and meet plan goals.
Oversee all trade advertising, including research, media buying, schedule planning, creative, and results tracking.
Manage African Travel’s database used for product mail-out.
Oversee the design, creation, and distribution of collateral material for both trades, including postcards, flyers, giveaways, and the quarterly African Travel newsletter.
Create and implement tactical offers to drive demand by creating flyers for the outside sales team, e-mails to target audiences, etc.
Align design strategy with corporate and/or brand strategy. Manage quality and consistency of design outcomes across all departments.
Manage internal customer database, ensure accuracy of data entry, updates, and production of reports for the company, key accounts, and outside sales team as well as all direct mail activities.
In conjunction with the President and Director of Sales, develop relationships with consortia and key accounts regarding marketing, advertising, sales reporting, training, seminars, tradeshows, and other sales functions.
Oversee the content, product updates, and functionality of African Travel’s websites: www.africantravelinc.com with travel agent pages and media pages.
Develop and market exclusive offers for consortia and key accounts.
Distribute product to consortia, Passport Online, white label pages (AAA Carolinas), key accounts (Vacations to Go, Affordable Tours, etc.,), African Travel websites, and XML feed.
Manage brochure launches including all collateral development, distribution list management, and mail-house coordination.
Manage trade communications and collateral/tools including development and production.
Manage all reports needed for consortia and communication of results with partners. Update quarterly override reports for Finance and Consortia
Track sales performance and offer codes with consortia partners.
Represent African Travel at North American industry events (United States, Canada & Mexico)
Perform additional duties as instructed by senior management.
Manage and supervise direct reports.

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum 4 years of marketing, advertising, and production experience preferred
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) required. Internet proficiency is required. Knowledge of or the ability to learn the in-house reservations system is required.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. Good presentation skills are preferred. Ability to interact with all levels of staff required
Team player, with the ability to work under pressure to tight deadlines, with minimum supervision.

WORK LOCATION

This position is considered Hybrid with a minimum of 2 days per week in the office.

SALARY RANGE

$100,000.00 to $130,000.00 PER YEAR
