The Willow Glen Business Association is looking to fill a Part-Time/Temporary Social Media and Event Coordinator position. The individual filling this 25 hour per week position will oversee and assist with all aspects of marketing and event coordination for the WGBA which serves a Board of Directors of 12 members and over 300 members of the Community Business Improvement District. The individual will be located in our 1261 Lincoln Avenue office. This is an hourly in-office position. The successful candidate will report directly to the President of the Willow Glen Business Association.

Requirements

The Social Media and Event Coordinator should exhibit:

Strong marketing, and social media technical skills (such as Instagram, Facebook, and newsletter software)
Exceptional, professional communication skills, both spoken and written.
Professional demeanor and ability to deal effectively with all individuals.
Pleasant public interface
Assist in the day-to-day operations of the office: answering phones, routine clerical, data entry, ordering office supplies, filing, picking up mail from the post office.
Self-starter, ability to work independently and manage multiple projects.
Assist in event planning and execution.

Responsibilities

Coordinate with other staff members and volunteers to execute successful events for Willow Glen
Assist with Membership Recruitment
Communicate regularly with WGBA members through email, phone calls, website update, etc.
Manage membership directory data, including maintaining up-to-date records on full and associate members (database, email lists, mailing addresses, kiosk maintenance and map updates)
Oversee intake of all new CBID members, update distribution list of all CBID members
Attend Board and Committee meetings, write up committee minutes as requested.
Assist with all aspects of planning and implementation of special activities/events/promotions such as Wine Walks, Ladies' Night Out, Beer Walk, etc.
Promote the Businesses on Lincoln Avenue - walk the "Avenue" handing out flyers, taking 'candid' pictures of events/activities/holiday decor, coordinating with our Website Management Company for implementation to the website, posting regularly on Instagram, Facebook, etc.
Publishing the Monthly Newsletter

· Preferred Education and Experience

The preferred candidate will have an education in computer science, marketing and event planning or the equivalent experience with a proven track record for success.
