The Center for Adults Living Well @ The Y is an “Older Adult Center” (OAC) funded by the New York City Department for the Aging (NYC DFTA). The Center for Adults Living Well @ the Y (CALW) is Northern Manhattan’s place for adults 60 and better to enjoy social engagement, meals, and dining, while accessing benefits and entitlements assistance.CALW offers a wide range of cultural, arts, education, technology, recreation, and health and wellness classes and events that cater to a diverse population.

WORK HOURS: Part-time, 5 days a week

CLASSIFICATION: Non-exempt

GENERAL JOB DESCRIPTION: The Data/ Administrative Assistant is a position that reflects the growth and expansion of the Y's Older Adult Center Programing. Under the supervision of the Center Director the Data/Administrative Assistant is responsible for execution of all regular transaction processes necessary to maintain operations records and databases extracting, importing, and exporting of data in various database applications.

Responsibilities

Execute all regular transaction processes necessary to maintain operations records and databases.
Assist with the creating and updating of monthly newsletter
Ensures all activities of the Center are carefully tracked in the STARS system
Ensures accurate, up to date, client records in the STARS system
Perform the extracting, importing, and exporting of data in various database applications.
Research and collect data to assist with program development and analysis
Perform data reconciliations to identify data anomalies.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Information Management, Computer Science or a similar field
Administrative experience
Knowledge of Excel and Microsoft office
Ability to work independently
Knowledge of computer hardware and software systems
Knowledge of STARS a plus
Bilingual ( English/Spanish)

Compensation

$20 paid hourly

EXPECTED CORE HOURS OF WORK

Estimated hours: Monday- Friday: 9:00 am - 2:00 pm; with room for flexibility.
