The Tailwind Group Intern Program allows students or recent grads to gain real world experience in their area of interest and understand its function within the student housing industry - all while making a true impact on our business.
This summer internship term will run from early June - August 15th, working 20 hours a week on average. Our program includes:

The Position: The Marketing Intern is primarily responsible for supporting the marketing and social media team with content creation, page management, and research projects to boost brand engagement for Tailwind Group’s corporate and property pages. A successful Marketing Intern will have excellent writing and oral communication skills, have in-depth knowledge of social media platforms, and will be comfortable creating and managing multiple social media accounts to educate and engage the audience.

This is an in-office position working out of our Mankato, MN, corporate office. The pay rate for this position is $15/hr.
Responsibilities & Duties
- Model and cascade Tailwind Group’s five core values: Entrepreneurial, Versatile, Responsive, Innovative, and Integrity.
- Develop and manage engaging social media content for multiple platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
- Brainstorm and research ideas for original content, including social media posts, captions, and short-form videos (Reels/TikToks).
- Assist in the creation and editing of video content and be comfortable appearing in social media content as needed.
- Support monthly marketing calendar development to align with campaigns and property strategies.
- Post and schedule content for Tailwind Group’s social media accounts, including the Tailwind Insiders page.
- Monitor and audit property social media accounts to ensure accurate brand messaging and identify areas for improvement.
- Perform routine updates to social media profiles, including bios, cover photos, and pinned posts.
- Track social media performance metrics to identify high-performing content and develop strategies to increase engagement and followers across the portfolio.
- Collect and organize social performance data using the social icon tracker and provide monthly performance reports to the CLM team.
- Conduct social media marketing research to stay up-to-date on new trends, tools, and best practices.
- Support content creation for Tailwind Group’s newsletter and assist in production of the Tailwind Group podcast, including transcriptions and promotions.
- Compile ad performance data and campaign summaries.
- Assist with brainstorming and designing creative for paid social campaigns.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent and working towards a degree in Marketing, Digital Communications, or a related field.
- Must be a junior, senior, or recent graduate at time of internship.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Demonstrated ability to work in a growing, fast-paced environment managing multiple projects simultaneously.
- Passion for social media and creative approach to engagement.
- Proficiency in using and creating content for social media platforms such as, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and LinkedIn.
- Experience with photo and video editing apps such as Canva, CapCut, and Adobe Lightroom is strongly preferred.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to present ideas, instructions, and information both written and verbally.
